It's impossible to know if they will still find somebody inadmissible for another reason prior to approval....but generally yeah, they would note it.

 

Judgement call by the physician...goes to show that being honest was absolutely the right thing to do.

An admission to drug use is all they need. It's an automatic 1 year ban. They would give u six months depending on ur answer as to why u stopped smoking. You will have to random drug test yourself eve

Unfortunately, they tend to be rather strict IIRC. I'll defer to others, but I would lean towards there being a 1 year ban.

Interesting. My husband admitted to smoking back in 2008 and the Dr. wouldn't send his medical exam to the Embassy for his interview. We get to the interview and they couldn't finish because the Dr. wants to do a 3 month to 1 year monitoring program on my husband. It is crazy how different the U.S Embassy's operate from country to country. There needs to be consistency. So now we are waiting for the Dr. to lift the monitoring program and send the Medical exam to the Embassy.
