Just to add, also make sure that you get a good idea about the full scope of the K1 visa process (so after a K1 visa is issued).

After you get married, you will go through the adjustment of status process (and have to cough up the filing fee for that) and eventually the removal of conditions of your conditional green card after that.

The K1 visa itself is just the means to enter the US. Having a good idea about the next steps will help you to plan both financially and emotionally so you can avoid any surprises in the future.

Good luck on your immigration journey!

@Hyuga see the quoted post!  It is extremely important to research and plan, bc the K1 is only an entry visa.

How times you meet before you file it 100 percent up to you and your fiance. Everyone has their own ways of doing things. I went to see my fiance for the first time in Istanbul, Turkey. Then the 2,3 and 4th time I went directly to him in Algeria. I filed after the second visit in his country. We both personally did not feel right about applying for the visa until one of you got to meet the others family. So again it is up to you. Best of Luck to you on the journey of the visa. Just be patient make sure you do a lot of research and you will do great.

Really, many people said we must wait, even do many visit ect...

thank you

The rules require that you meet in person once.

It is often suggested that couples spend as much time as possible with their fiance before they file however it is not required.

Just to supplant this a little bit. I filed after my second meeting. But I also demonstrated nearly daily contact, (via Whatsapp and Skype) over the past year. After the I-129F was approved and while we were waiting for the interview, (now waiting for the visa), I made another visit. Which my fiance took pictures, collected hotel receipts and airline tickets. These she took to the interview to demonstrate that the relationship is continuing. You don't have to do all that but it is something to think about to help establish a sincere relationship with your fiance.
