while the status in the USCIS account (new URL) reads "We reviewed your biometrics. You do not need to do anything at this time".

Hmm my old reads as you state but my new read we have scheduled your biometrics.  So strange

I see that you are from Georgia. If you are assigned to Atlanta ASC, they do not allow walk-ins. I tried it already.

But, you can take a print out of the letter from the website. When I went for biometrics, I took a printed copy from the website.

There was no problem.

No, I assigned to Jacksonville, FL for biometrics and Charleston, SC is my local office.

Good to know that I can use the copy from the website. Appreciate that info.

I just got back from the biometrics appointment at ASC Dallas so I'm here to report. In and out it took 1 hour! The Dallas office is always crowded, so Dallas fellows might wanna come in earlier. Also, I tried to walk in in the past but they always sent me home so I did not bother this time and only showed up on the appointment date.

My status on myuscis is still showing as "We scheduled your biometrics appointment." Estimated case completion changed from Oct 2020 to Sep 2020.

I wonder if the difference is between USCIS services centers in the way they update the status. I hear a lot of people skipping status's.  I wonder if that’s what is happening with mine.

Does anyone know if the status of “we reviewed your biometrics” comes before “Case is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS”?

This would help confirm skipping of some status’s

I absolutely believe that each service center has its own way (and time scale) for submitting the data after doing biometrics. I was gathering my stuff while the lady who did mine told me I could go and she was just updating everyting on the main system. My status changed almost immediately online.

There has always been a bit of a difference between the old and new sites.

My status on the old site still says the thing about being actively processed while the new site says my biometrics have been reviewed, etc.

It's been like that since I attended my appointment and I expect it will stay like that. Same thing happened with ROC and even now, the status on the two sites for that completed case read differently.

Thanks for your personal experience and take on the status system!  I completely agree with you.  Each service center must have its own way of processing and updating.

I wish they would have a little more consistently as far as the status process goes.

Oh well I’m sure It won’t be long until we get updates about interviews.

I don’t know much about the F2A but check this link out it might be useful. https://www.***removed***/greencard/***removed***/petition-upgrade.html  they also have forums for the visa process.

This website has some good more direct information on what you are seeking (I think) https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/free-books/fiance-marriage-visa-book/chapter12-30.html

I hope some of this is helpful or of use to you.

Maybe be someone else who has first hand experience or knows exactly what to do can also answer.

Maybe try posting in one of these

Good luck!

It would be great if they were also consistent with the processing times across the country.

My estimated completion time is April 2020. If I lived 30 minutes north of where I am it would be October 2019 🤔

Wow I knew completion times varied but I didn't realize that service centers near each other had such time variations.  Sorry you got the shot end of the sick with that variance.

Biometrics finally done on my appointment date yesterday in Fargo, ND. The technician was so nice! And if some you will remember from my previous posts, we are moving to a new state. So right after my bio appointment, I filed a change of address, and today I got a notification that they transferred my application to the new office (near my new address, now Fort Smith, AR) and Oh. My. Goodness. My completion date dropped a full 6 months!!!

I really do see what you guys above me are saying about the disparity of processing times between field offices.

Also, when I was in for my bio appointment yesterday, the lady gave me a heads up that my actual completion date (then July 2020) may take a little longer than estimated, she said they are having a lot of backlog in the St. Paul MN Field office. Oh man. I hope we all get through this faster than what was estimated for us. Fingers crossed!

We have seen cases where applicants were denied based off the " 3 months rule of in-state residency" I hope your case doesn't fall in that category because they usually will not tell you when you put that request for transfer in

I have gone  through the timelines for my local office painstakingly and I noticed that the average wait time since 2014 to date from period of biometrics to Interview is 3months

however 30% of applicants had one month from biometrics to interview while 15% had > 1 month but < than 3months wait time

My question then is asides from workload does the local office have a scheduling software similar to the one the DMV uses for scheduling where the days that are "full" are grayed out or the adjudicating officers just use discretion and throw wait times around???
