Hi everyone, I just received the bio-metric letter... but the location is far. When I did my Biometric for I-751, it was near my workplace. But now it is so far away not close to my home or work.

Do I have to go to the USCIS office location the letter listed? Thank you very much!

walk-in didn't work. I went to another ASC near my work. They don't let me do it, saying it is not even close to the originally assigned date. They were really busy at 8:30 am. So I said I am not even close to the location on the letter. I work near here. I asked what is the best time to come. She then said closer to the assigned date and in the afternoon. >.<

Wow that is weird. I am also Chicago, filed the same day as MsGazelle online as well, but my completion time is 9 months. I wish I was that lucky to get it in two months!

Same! Applied on 7/6 and estimated case completion is May 2020. Having my biometrics appointment today.

I wonder if it’s because she is filing under the 5-year rule.

I don’t really mind waiting 10 months though. I mean, we can do pretty much everything with the green card.

September 22, 2015: Biometrics done. Early walk-in at a different ASC.
September 30, 2015: Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.
November 11, 2015: EAD card is being produced (Form I-765) and Form I-131 is approved.

I guess I can say I am blessed. Maybe they decided to be nice to me this time around. I waited for almost 1 year for my green card from the time of application.

Oh ok, it’s a bit odd then. Maybe there are several centers in the Chicago area and waiting time differs or maybe she just got lucky. I am in the city. Are you as well? Did you get your biometrics done already? Going today and it’s insanely far, in Burbank.

Thanks for creating the sheet.Very helpful.

Looks like chicago (user:  MsGazelle) will get it first in 2 months. Understand different centers have different  processing times but drastic difference between Chicago (2 months) and San jose, CA ( 11 months). Less people applying N-400 at Chicago compared to CA?

I totally understand that some areas have a bigger load of applications to process, but it's really infuriating and such bad case load management to have such a vast disparity between the wait times for the same application in different areas.  Our local office is taking 9-10 months on average to process N400's. If we lived an hour north or an hour south from where we are, any of the nearest field offices would be taking less than half the time to completion. And we are nowhere near the worst for processing times.

A processing time difference of 2 months vs 22 months for the 'best' and 'worst' offices is so ridiculous it's laughable.

A few filers seem to have a very quick estimated completion time. Can't wait to hear reviews of interviews.

I filed N-400 on 7/9/19

bio appointment set for 8/1/19

estimated completion date of 12/19 (5 months).

The process seems to be moving faster than I expected!

Time to get that powerball or megamillions and share it with members here when you win :-)

I am actually in northern Indiana. A few of our counties report to the Chicago Office instead of Indianapolis. I got my bios yesterday and my estimated time went from May 2020 to April 2020. Now wait time says 9 months.
