She can take lorazepam (spelling?) for a flight

this looks to me as telling someone what medication to take. You then shared what works for you.

It might not seem like a big deal to you, but self-medicating is a very big problem, specially with restricted substances.

What if she took that to heart and had access to it and took it without knowing that she was allergic to it or caused her another reaction due to the side effects?

People think that just saying "oh you should take this, or that" is harmless, but if you are not a doctor or a pharmacist and know what you are talking about and the person's medical history, the only thing you should recommend is water.

There is no requirement for her to fly, you certainly will need to consider what you can do if you wish to make a strong case to immigrate to the US.

I have a friend who is a Pharmacist, and the best you can expect is guidance, any drug is a risk. Best to consider other options.

Although I have taken a lorazepam occasionally 🙄, therapy is the way to go. I have a good friend who had a lot of success with getting over her fear of flying through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

I have an issue with needles, but when shove came to push well I did it, did not like it but.

Personal responsibility + common sense. You don't take drugs not prescribed to you (barring OTC meds, which don't actually need a prescription anyway)....at least without accepting those risks. You also don't give your own prescribed drugs to somebody else.

If allergic, the result would be the same whether a doctor prescribed it or not.

Seriously, she needs to find some solution on HER side, because from reading on here a visitor visa from Ghana is impossible.

As the stats show plenty of people get visa's, OP who knows.

~~Warning to stop focusing on One Members advice to take medication. Nowhere did that member tell her to take something without her doctor's advice. Giving members advice on ways to overcome fear is all that was given. Now get back to the OP's questions.~~

Yeah

Do you feel like you can have a heart to heart conversation about this? Where you can be completely honest with her about what she needs to do as well? It is a lot of money to come and visit, sure, and also there's her fears, but there's all sorts of difficult and uncomfortable things that we have to do in life to get to where we want to be. ❤️

This may be a stupid question, but is flight her only option?

My dog is emigrating with me, but can’t fly because of his age/heart murmur - so we’re emigrating by cruise instead...just wondering if by sea may be also be an option for your wife?
