I just called, unfortunately the lady said that tier 2 no longer accepts calls today but I should call tomorrow first thing in the morning and I will be able to get a hold of them.

So that's what I am planning to do

Great! Good luck and I hope you get your appointment sorted soon 😊

Hi all,

My receipt date for NOA1 is May 16th and I still haven’t received a letter for my biometrics appointment.

I called USCIS about a month ago and was told that it hadn’t be scheduled yet (I.e the letter hadn’t been lost) and to keep waiting.

I called again yesterday and was told the same, (the lady I spoke to also told me that USCIS are currently working on cases from February 17th) but this time I insisted that I wasn’t happy with that response and that nearly 3 months of waiting didn’t seem right, given that people with receipt dates later than mine had been scheduled already. I told her that my concern was that my case had been lost in the scheduling system and that me just keep waiting made me worry more. She then offered to put me through to a tier 2, which put me in the queue for a callback from a tier 2.

4 hours later I received a call back and the guy I spoke to was super helpful, he agreed nearly 3 months was quite long and also asked if I’d had my biometrics taken at the airport when I arrived on my K1. I’m not sure what relevance that had as when asked he said I would still have the biometrics scheduled too.

Anyway...he then opened up the biometrics scheduling calendar for me and I now have my appointment scheduled for August 30th!

Hope this info helps 😊

Thank you. My noa1 is may 20th, on the phone now. Wish me luck!

So I'm in a bit of a sticky situation. I'm amongst the vast group of people who have yet to hear anything about the biometrics appointment. And this is causing me some issues.

My wife's hours have been cut at work. We don't know why. Her boss is a really awful person, and doesn't care about anything except herself. Her company's management doesn't care to sort this out. Her company's HR department generally sides with the management over the employees. It's a really toxic environment. She can't get any sensible answers as to why her hours have been reduced, and this leads to a couple of problems. First being that she's not getting as much money as she did previously. The second being that this has the potential to make her lose her health insurance with a lack of average hours in the quarter.

My dog also may need vets visits. Neither of us have the money to do this right now.

So I probably need to expedite my EAD over significant financial hardship and whatnot. I've heard that you can't do this without first having had the biometrics done. Those who've managed to contact USCIS to get appointments are only getting them towards the end of the month. I need to do this urgently.

Am I S.O.L here, at the mercy of USCIS scheduling biometrics before I can expedite, or is there something I can do to get this moving? I have yet to contact USCIS to figure out where the biometrics appointment is up to, but this is getting kinda hard and really stressful for us both right now.

I expedited EAD and was told my case was put on hold until my biometrics have been completed. I was told to re-apply once my biometrics were done.

This is also what I just received as a response on my service request...I am so upset, because I've heard  that this wont  actually affect the time of processing, but according to this my case is on hold because of it😭

I am definitely calling tomorrow!

This is actually what I received a couple days after putting the second service request, and a week after they sent me that email I received my biometrics appointment letter. Not to try to give you some kind of false hope but it worked for me and hopefully works for you too.

thank you very much, it gives me hope!

However, I am so worked up right now that I probably gonna call them tomorrow morning anyway...

I just really hope that this " case being on hold" wont affect my timeline too much and I will be in line with other may fillers to receive an interview

Hi, can I get in trouble with immigration if I apply for jobs without getting my EAD yet?

You can apply without one but you should wait until you have the EAD to accept a job offer or start working.

It’s so frustrating, I know! 😩

I was very persistent and just kept telling the lady I spoke to that I wasn’t happy with just continuing to wait as I knew that other people that had filed later than me had their biometrics appointment scheduled already and I was concerned that my case had been missed in the scheduling process.

I “think” you can request to speak to a tier 2, but I’ve never tried myself so I’m not 100% sure...worth a try just asking outright?

Good luck and I hope you get scheduled soon!
