Petition Approved: 04/17

NVC received: 04/29

Case Number received: 05/07

Paid AOS: 05/07

Paid IV: 05/ 07

Preparing documents to submit.

Welcome! I see your interview will be in Colombia. My husband is Colombian and I was born there as well but grew up in Seattle. We have been living in Brazil for the last 3 years as our jobs transferred us here (our interview will be in Brazil). I am currently sponsoring him as I am a US citizen.

I heard that the Colombian embassy in Bogota is also handling immigrant visas from Venezuela as the embassy in Caracas is now closed. I wonder how is this affecting the interview dates availability.

Hi guys,

i need your help. I called nvc and they told me to submit irs transcript for 2018. But i called irs and they said its not available until june. So cut down the wait, should I submit 2018 tax return file (1040) that my accountant did for me? Or w-2s?

Or what should I submit, i dont want to wait for irs transcript until june.

i didn't called IRS but I did sent online request for 2018 Tax transcript and after 5 days I got it by mail. My last 3 years Tax Transcript I have received same way.

I resubmitted my documents on April 25. The issue was our lawyer uploaded the rotated file by mistake and NVC rejected it. Waiting for NVC to reveiw. Looks like somebody from April 24th got CC so hope I hear something soon.

May 1 also got CC i think May 3 🤷🏻‍♀️

I resubmitted on the 25th as well. They wanted us to separate 2 combined documents that we submitted for "proof of domicile". So we had to separate them and resubmitted separately. So stupid as they are both related to proof domicile.

I can't contain my frustration :( USCIS has still not sent our file to NVC.. They say they're on schedule and there's no use calling before 90 days from the date of approval. Why do they do this!! Can't they see the priority date? The pain is just too much.

Yesterday  lawyer have denoted my husband file and made an NVC inquiry request for supervisor, as soon as they hear back from NVC they will update me.

I told him to find out if we can take the 2018 transcript to the interview.

even tho he told me it will be ready on tomorrow, once I have it in hand I will upload it as long as NVC don't review my case as yet.

will see how this play.

Right????? I find this stage of the process (NVC) so painful! At least with the USCIS you just needed to wait for them to approve all at once. With the NVC they are so inconsistent and they just do as they please without following clear guidelines.

Well we thought the USCIS is the longest. People told us that NVC stage will be fast! Nxt months is 1 yr since we started this process. We already wasted lots of time for NVC. Got petition approved first week december which was earlier than expected and NVC only gave us a case number Feb 16. I think because of the shutdown. Idk. I wish NVC will visit this site to see our frustrations. For reals! A single document flipped or with extra, reject! Byebye papers! See you in three weeks or see you when I see you. 😁

Thank you. When someone asked me that here, I didn’t know what to answer and was anxious since last night because the Tax return is the one we resubmitted. And it hasnt been reviewed since April 17. 😑

So, will our Tax return and W2 enough for NVC? We will try to get transcripts and just bring it to interview to be safe. I just want to know if we are safe with return and w2. It’s 3weeks tomorrow and I dont want to be told again by the time they review it that I need transcript before they complete my case. That will be another 3wks of waiting if this happens. 😞

Please upload tax transcript except you gave a reason if not you will have RFE
