Consulate Review: Trinidad & Tobago
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 19, 2019
Embassy Review : First thing to note when you get to the embassy is that there is NO PHONE ALLOWED INSIDE THE EMBASSY!

Upon arrival to the embassy you will form a single file line and will be call account to the current appointment time which is being dealt with. A person of the embassy will then ask for your appointment letter and your passport and then direct you to the immigrant visa line outside the embassy. On entry you will be screened by the security officers on duty and will be directed to the reception desk for them to check you in. They will ask for the appointment letter and passport, take the relevant information and give it back to you along with a brown folder for you to insert all the required documents originals and ask to be seated on the blue chairs..

After a little wait someone in the room from windows 1-5 will announce your name and which window you will need to go to where the person will review the original documents you placed in the brown folder for verification of what was submitted on CEAC and what is presented to them. You will then be asked again to have a seat on the blue chairs for another wait to be called again in the same room but this time by the consular officer for you interview.

Upon completion you will be given a letter with the decision that was made on your case and information of how your passport will be returned to you.

My overall experience was great no hiccups, consular officer made me feel comfortable and he was friendly. He congratulated me and told me we are completed and to have a great stay in the U.S. 🙂.

Good luck, I pray all has smooth sailing...
Rating : Very Good

My husband actually went to the US embassy last month to renew our daughter's passport and he asked a couple questions about the process. They told him it won't be long to get an appointment and they schedule immigrant visas before non immigrant visas. Also if you're missing somethings they allow you to DHL the doce back to them.. They're really accommodating. Hardest part is USCIS we already passed.

I did my medical July 1st 2019 at Dr. Poorans' office at Lucknow Street, St. James P.O.S, Trinidad. The staff at the office was very pleasant and friendly and Dr. Pooran made you feel extremely comfortable, a woman that seems to have an amazing personality. I gave all the required documents to the receptionist and had my urine sample taken and sat an waited to be screened by the assistant where she analyzed what test and vaccines were needed for my son and myself. The conclusion was that my son was fully vaccinated and I needed only the Tdap vaccine and to have my blood taken upstairs for testing. Upon completion I made my way to see Dr. Pooran where she did basic physical exam of eyes, mouth etc. The exam took approximately 15mins. I the went to pay the fees totaling $2450 (adult-$1600, child-$500 & $350- vaccine, (fees for x-ray are already charged by Dr. Poorans’ office) and made my way for X-rays (not for minor) to be taken at Dundonald Street, P.O.S, Trinidad where I took like 10mins to be completed. My overall experience was quick and had great customer service. Good luck everyone. 

Collected medical exam results from Dr. Pooran on the 8th July after my medi-exam which was on the 1st July. Items which I collected was a sealed envelope, a copy of immunization for my son and myself, a copy x-ray results and a CD with x-ray. P.S The sealed envelope is to remain sealed!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
