Most likely you will (hope I’m wrong) we filed our return after we submitted our package (on Feb 11th), hopefully that’s all they need...we responded to the RFE today.

I'm not sure what we'll do and I'm confused as to why you got one since it's technically due in April. My husband is an eye surgeon and because of  the new tax laws, he has filed for an extension since they can't get their head around it. We won't have the 2018 tax for a while.... not sure how we'll get around that.

I hope you don’t get RFE, but if you do, there is no way around it, you will have to respond. You will have 90 days to respond before they consider your AOS abandoned. Most likely you guys will have a return before that due date. Btw, I have a friend who filed 2017 return and is yet to get RFE, they got married this year, so his wife won’t appear on the return. We got married last year, so technically they’ll expect a joint filling. (Just my theory, I could be wrong)

@crono_clone He just added me to the light bill in order to do the bank account thing. I can’t contribute because I’m not working either... lol they accepted my Spanish ID as well with my passport. Maybe you can go with eveything again and asked them. Sometimes they don’t have any idea.. She was looking everything up for me because or visa is kinda of weird and I don’t have the SSN

We sent the 2017 IRS tax transcript that we can get online directly from the IRS. I didn’t think we needed to send anything else.  Maybe if they do send an RFE, we’ll send a letter back explaining the situation. Thank you!!!

I think if we send the cerified copy of the IRS tax transcript, the huge tax return and w-2 doesn’t need to be included. I’m hoping we don’t get an RFE! Only time will tell!

Ugh, figures lol . The banker at mine wouldn't accept my husband's passport. Not sure if she would have accepted a foreign drivers' license for him, but he doesn't have one anyway. And we don't have any bills in his name yet since since they're all under mine (and he can't work yet so it's not like he has anything to contribute). I asked her if the credit card statements with his name on them were enough, but she said no to that too.

Chase wouldn’t accept me either but I managed with HSBC with my driving license, marriage certificate, passport and SSN but not sure if it’s because HSBC are big in UK too where I’m from. They were so helpful.

That's what I sent too.  Just the transcript for 2018, 2017, 2016 without my huge return paperwork and w2s. I haven't gotten any RFE yet. I did get my courtesy letter for I693. I stalked the Jun/July aos forums and it seems like courtesy letter for I693 is the last thing they send before interview scheduling if I didnt include I693 in my initial packet.

Hopefully they are right and I don't get rfe.

I only sent the 2017... I think we are allowed to only send one if the income is high enough, correct?

Yes that's true, though I've been hearing from some people that they've been getting RFEs because USCIS is now expecting 2018 tax returns (even though the deadline is in April). Hopefully they don't do that with yours, but we know how capricious this process can be sometimes.

Yeah.. Urghhh! My husband has his own surgery practice so it's so difficult for us to get the 2018 right now. His accountant has filed for an extension. It'll take ages. Maybe if we do get an RFE, I can ask the accountant for the confirmation of extension or something and send that in. I hoppppeee we don't get an RFE

Yup, definitely sucks for us Marchies! We're kinda getting disadvantaged in the fact that it's been 3 months since the end of 2018 and USCIS is somehow already expecting everyone to have had a tax return at this point, but the deadline is actually still a month away. Sigh :(
