Hello,

I have a question my fiancé is 5 months pregnant she have to do the medical exam in the CONSULTORIOS DE VISA in Dominican Republic. I’m worry about the vaccinations she already got one of the vaccine with her primary doctor one month ago. So do they skip couple of the vaccinations because she is pregnant or should we postpone the medical exam for a later time after she give birth?

I’m confuse what to do in this case because I want my baby to be good and I don’t want to put my baby in danger.

My understanding is that there is no requirement for her to have these vaccinations in order to come to America. They would be required after you were married and she applied for a change of status. Under the circumstances, I would wait and let her receive the vaccinations in the US

Does the i-134 need to be notarized?

No. If you download and review the form and instructions, it will be self explanatory.

I’m going to double check because I think the vaccinations is required before the interview and before enter to USA.

This is from the USCIS website.

Vaccines are required for all immigrants. However, the K1 Visa is considered a non-immigrant Visa since its latched to the promise to marry and AOS. Because of this, they don't require vaccinations at point of entry but you will be required to complete any missing vaccinations with a civil surgeon in the states during AOS stage.

I hope that clarifies things.

Nope. vaccinations are not required to enter on a k1, just recommended because they will eventually be needed for AoS once she's in the states.

Yea, for a lot of people it's better to get them done overseas because it's cheaper, but if you can get it free through your insurance then might as well wait. I'm military, so it'll all be completely free so I'm not having Tina get anything she doesn't need.

Knowing Ukraine, there's no telling if what they're actually injecting you with is what it's supposed to be anyway. Not exactly cheaper if you're getting injected with water. 🤷‍♂️

Thank you so much. I just looked at the check list for CRBA and I have to start getting document and evidence from now. Thanks for the Info.

CRBA information is only so that you are aware if the birth takes place in her country. No need to start accumulating documents when this may not be needed. Do what do will do. The other information from the P3 is something that needs your attention. Good luck.

We decided that she give birth in our country because she has insurance over there.  And I will work with P3. Thank you again.

Embassy doesn't need to know but the ppl at the medical exam is who you should inform.

Though you are not required to have vaccinations you may want to educate yourself whether they are included in your medical fee. Philippines includes it in the fee and therefor the majority have them completed in the Philippines.

You have two choices. First is to get your vaccinations done there in your country as they are usually cheaper. Second is not to vaccinations but you will need them once you start your AOS submittal. At that time you will need to see a "civil surgeon" for them to either administer your vaccinations or to transpose them to the I-693 for your AOS package. CS will charge you anywhere from $75 - $250 for this service. Either way you must have vaccinations to complete your AOS for the 2 year green card.

From the Form I-693 instructions (page 6-7):

"Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the Part 7. Vaccination Record completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you must submit Parts 1., 2., 4., and 7. of Form I-693."

P1: It's cheaper overseas and if you can have the DS-3025 designated that ALL vaccinations are complete then you are saving money. See my earlier post above.

P2: I understand your concern about the Ukraine and the possibility of getting an injection with water BUT if this were to ever happen and reported back to USCIS/Embassy they would loose their ability to administer future medical exam. These exams are BIG $$$ to these exam stations and they don't want to risk loosing them.
