My fiance arrived about half an hour before his interview. He went through the first security checkpoint where they check you to make sure you're not bringing anything in, then secondary security where they ask to see your passport and appointment letter. Then security sent him to the counter where he was asked basic questions like
What's your email address and phone number
Have you ever been married
Has she ever been married
What's her job
Then they gave him a slip with all the required documents to be put in a certain order and was told to go to take a seat to wait for the interview. He waited there about 1.5-2 hours when he was called up to meet with the officer.
He was asked just a few questions:
How did you meet?
Have either of you been married before?
What are the dates for her first and second trip?
What's her job?
He looked only at our pictures and said Welcome to America. You're approved. We will keep your passport to put your Visa in it. Please walk over to the counter so you can register to pick it up when its ready.
And that's it! The officer who interviewed him was the same one that interviewed him the last time for his tourist Visa (that was denied) and both times he was pleasant and super nice with a friendly demeanor. The only bad thing was that they had rescheduled his appointment but as long as we are approved it doesnt even matter anymore

LONG 2.5 hour wait after arrival because of heavy people traffic but super easy entry! No questions asked other than "when are you getting married?" |

Very good experience.
We arrived half an hour early but found a long line of people waiting to get in. Turns out they had no power in the morning so they opened late and had fallen behind 1.5 hours on appointments. We went through security then to a desk to present our interview notice and they took a picture of my husband with a patriotic background (which I'm guessing is the picture that will be used on his green card). Then we went into the waiting area to wait. About an hour later they finally called us up and were interviewed by Mr. Garcia. He was really nice but had a very cool demeanor (we couldn't tell his emotions). He interviewed us together and asked for our IDs (I presented my driver license and he presented his EAD card and social security) and had us swear an oath. Then he asked us questions:
Me: what's your address? when and how did you meet?
Him: have you met her family? did you travel to see them? where did you work before you came here?
He asked to see a picture of our wedding and we showed him the pic along others from other days, but he said "it's okay, I just need this one."
Then he asked if we have any bills together and we showed him our light bill (under my name but same address) and our internet bill (under his name but same address). He asked if we had a lease together and we did so we showed it to him and he said "Okay, that's all I'll need from this".
He then went through the application and asked the security questions: "Will you/have you/are you a relative of someone who participate/d in trafficking, prostitution, etc" Once he finished, he said he needed his vaccination form DS-3025 because he couldn't find it in the records. We provided that and he said that was it. He said "I just need to make a few updates to your case file tonight and if everything you said here is true, you should be getting your green card in about 2 weeks. After that, you'll need to renew it in about a year and a half."
We walked out not knowing exactly how well it went and our moods soured when as soon as we got out of the building we got an update saying "Interview is Complete and Case Must be Reviewed". However, at 3pm that same day, it changed again to Case Approved.
Tip: Make sure you go prepared and you go over everything you put in the I-485.

Timeline Comments: 16Hi celeste.. i wanted to ask u as a lebanese applier .. did u send any engagement pictures or have u done any kind of engagement ceremonies before applying for the I129f
Hi Sara! No, we didn't do any ceremony. It was a surprise engagement so we don't really have pictures other than of the set up, but we provide 10 pictures of us together and with his family and friends. It's so nice to see another Lebanese filer and from Texas too! We are few, I think. lol
Yay! Congratulations on your approval!!!
It happened! Congratulations!!!
Yesss! It arrived at 4:55pm today and they closed at 5 lol so he's going tomorrow morning to pick it up. Yay!

You're getting married the day before us! Congratulations! What a wonderful weekend that will be!!!
I’m fairly nervous about the whole process. Can you tell me all what documents they asked of you? I know every embassy is different but I do not want to have wasted all my time.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
