Hi all,

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post but I would really appreciate input/advice. I am a us citizen married to my husband who is a legal permanent resident of the us (we will be applying to remove the conditions of his green card this year). I really would like to have a surprise my husband by inviting his brother's to our home in the us. Does anyone know the process or difficulty of his brothers obtaining a visa to visit the U.S? Even for a short while. They are from Jamaica. I am not attempting to start the process to "sponsor" the but was only looking for them to come over on a short stay visa. Anyone have insight on this process?

Sorry but you cant sponsor anyone for a visit visa its something that they muat be able to obtain on their own, they will need to apply and go to the interview showing strong ties to thwir home country, it will be up to CO to allow them a visa to visit.

I think if you send them an invitation to visit, that will be a proof for them to get denied, they can apply for a tourist visa and don't mention that they have any relatives there, and they would stay in a hotel. But having near relative there, they will be told that they would go to the US and never go back.

The DS160 form asks if the applicant has relatives in the US. It must be answered truthfully. One absolutely sure way to a denial, and possible ban, is to lie on a visa form.

And that is FRAUD.

OP, do not follow this advice.  Lies quickly unravel infront of COs as they are very good at spotting them.  When they discover the lie, it will result in a denial, and  can further result in a ban on receiving any type of visa.
