A bombshell report from The New York Times revealed that Facebook shared user data with major companies including Spotify, Netflix, Microsoft, Yahoo, and more that it categorized as data partners, which were not subject to the usual privacy controls. 

The Times reviewed more than 200 pages of documents generated in 2017 by Facebook's automated partnership tracker. Facebook does not sell user data, but it entered into data-sharing partnerships with over 150 companies. 

"The deals, the oldest of which date to 2010, were all active in 2017," The Times reported. "Some were still in effect this year."

Many of the younger guys I work with use other social media primarily. Its getting a rep as an old people thing

I think it has already been labeled an old fuddy duddy by the current generation.  I think it is on its way out, and the other platforms will follow eventually.

Twenty first century America, and corporations now know everything about us. They even have our DNA.

Actually no.  I know a lot of folks that for whatever reason do not use social media.  Many refrain due to job/security clearance requirements.  I myself have joined those ranks although I do admit to having used FB in the past.

myspace still exists, and people use it. To be fair if myspace had updated things to be a lot more user friendly and sleak, and kept all of their privacy controls and stances... facebook would not exist.

I had to laugh at a conversation I saw on Reddit with young people saying they might return to Facebook if it had cool features like customized home pages, blogs and the ability to share art and music.

One of my mangers wanted me to fax something to someone the other day. I told him, they live in a place that does not use a Fax. He said where ? I said 2018. Thats when it started

Had to fax some signatures to the home office. It took me 40 minutes to figure out how to make the multi function device connect,,9++,,,3454567890,,,1+ or some such BS.  I could have drove it there in 20 min.
