Firstly, when comparing recent death tolls from political violence perpetrated by the two sides (communist, anarchist, environmental rights and black nationalist groups on the left, with the varied strands of white supremacist and Christian theocratic groups on the right), as well as deaths inflicted by Islamist extremism, the data is quite clear. In the past decade, right-wing domestic extremism claimed 71 percent of deaths, compared with just 3 percent for left-wing extremists, with the remaining 26 percent attributed to Islamist extremism, according the Anti-Defamation League.

Chi town is a nick name for Chicacgo for about the past 100 years.

I don't condone the violence from either side.  Just to be sure that point is made clear.

 

It seems that the main focus or "measure" of violence is related to deaths rather than the lesser degrees of overall harassment.  And if the stats are correct - then it does appear that the right is better at actually killing their targets rather than merely being disruptive.  I would think that would cause everyone to pause and deeply evaluate the consequences of what that forebodes.  If this all continues to escalate and the Right starts to feel like the Constitution is under attack do such a degree that they are willing to engage in a civil war, who wins?  The disruptive, harassing, rock throwing, less lethal violence but louder screaming Left or the silent, skip the arguing, aim, fire, kill of the Right?

 

Just a thought.

From the perspective of a foreigner looking in from the outside the U.S. is looking more and more like a farce every day.

The U.S. population seems so polarised when it comes to politics it's unreal. It's all or nothing on both sides, anyone who says anything in favour of the current administration is a Trumpist nazi, anyone who criticises Trump in any way is a lefty liberal snowflake. Anything that anyone disagrees with is automatically met with screams of "FAKE NEEEEEEEWS!"

Trump supporters cannot accept any faults in the exalted leader at all without vehemently defending him no matter what, and Trump haters cannot accept any positive points about him without coming back with "but he did this or that really bad stuff as well".

On both sides it's getting ridiculous, "Oh, you vote differently than I do? Anything you say now is automatically invalid"

A friend of mine in Florida (anti Trump) can't even have a conversation with his own father (pro Trump) without it turning into an argument. Since when has it been ok for having a different political opinion to disrupt families?

 

You see it on the threads here all the time, every time there is any thread either for or against the current president then the same posters are straight in there with their unquestioning support for their own side, completely unwilling to even consider anyones opposing argument.

I think you should think on it some more, as you have completely missed the arguments outlined in the article I posted. Can't be reading articles from sources not officially endorsed by the right, now can we?
