Is it ok for my POE to be LA and give them my embassy package there and then fly to Portland?

That's fine. Just make sure you're not trying to make a quick connection in LA (though there flights to Portland as late as 9:25 pm).

Lots of people make their POE at an airport that isn't their final destination (though in our case I'm just going to pick up Anastasia at LAX and drive back to San Diego from there). I think there was even someone who flew to Vancouver and then met their fiance(e) and drove to somewhere in northern Washington state from there.

I know I know but I’m a pest :)

P4 FINALLY arrived on the 28th, interview is scheduled for the 11th of February!

It was a long wait from P3 to P4, almost lost my mind.

Rob bought his plane ticket to come and be with me and hopefully we will go back home together.

It is not the most ideal flight, so if we get our visa we would fly from Belgrade-Moscow-LA-Portland.

Is it ok for my POE to be LA and give them my embassy package there and then fly to Portland? Please @Greenbaum  😎

Yes LA is fine. You can land at any US airport and that will be your POE.

BTW, I hope Mr. Rob hasn't purchase your ticket as you don't have any idea how long the process will take after approval and you don't know if the visa is correct. Lots of landmines ahead to delay you from leaving. I have seen happen many times. Just saying.

Pretty sure he (I think) could; I think the beneficiary was from New Zealand. So not quite as tricky as it sounds at first glance.

Oh no he didnt buy one for me, just for himself.  And if everything is ok with visa he would try to get same flights for me for the way back.

Hi VJ friends, when does the embassy usually give the beneficiary the package to bring to the USA ? Right after interview or mailed to beneficiary? My case is complete we are just doing interview tomorrow.

Thanks

LA layover should be fine at 3.5 hours. My wife went through LA and I left a 4 hour window and she was able to get herself and 2 K-2's through immigration and onto the next gate without any problem. But, they were never asked to another room for further processing which happens to some then your wait will be longer.

Your completed visa/passport will take 5-10 business days normally but can take longer. Don't buy any airline tickets until you have your passport with visa in your hands and that you have gone over the visa to ensure everything is spelled correctly. If not contact your embassy and ask for the steps in getting it changed.  Your mileage may vary.

Hi Greenbaum, ok here is what happened today. I had originally sent my fiancé copies of my divorce records to give the Embassy, the embassy contacted us and said I needed to give my fiancé originals which I did and she gave the officer today. My fiancé signed a sheet saying she would marry me and the officer took her passports. My fiancé asked when we would have the visa and the officer said he would try to make it as short as possible. He only asked how we met and when. So now we are in Administrative processing so what do you guys think?
