Well, I thought this was the magical number, but I go to the Embassy's webpage to try to schedule the appointment and I get this:

The Immigrant Visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment. If you have not received an appointment letter from the National Visa Center (NVC), you can check the status of your IV case at http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/nvc.html.

If you have received an appointment letter from the NVC or an instruction letter from the Consular Section directing you to this website to schedule an appointment, please make sure to correctly enter your IV case number.

If you continue to receive this message, please send an email to the CSRA support asa_contactus+co+ivcasenumber@visaops.net with the following information:

  • Email Subject line must read “Case number not ready to schedule”
  • Applicant’s complete name
  • Applicant’s date of birth
  • Scanned copy of the National Visa Center (NVC) or Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) appointment letter or the appointment instructions letter received by the Consular Section.

Emails to the CSRA support will be responded to within 3-4 business days. Do not send multiple emails because this will delay the response to your inquiry.

Look. That is a pad answer given to immigrant visa couples. You are a K-1 and are using the K-1 procedures for embassy. I believe I have given the information that you need for your embassy with the instructions and process. If not let me know and I will post them again. Oh how I try hard to help you. :bonk:

Question and apologies in advance if this question has been asked already (I've looked through the pages before asking but wasn't lucky in finding the answer or may have looked over it) but I was able to finally get my case number today. I've noticed that people are able to see the status of their case or track their case, may I ask where you are going to find this information? Yes that information has been given in this thread many times. You go to ceac.state.gov and you enter in "immigrate" and "your case number" and then the magic happens.

I've gone on the CEAC website and entered in the case number but it just takes me straight to NVC website with the instructions on what to do and what to fill out, etc. ignore this because they are instructions to CR-1 visa process and you are a K-1.

I also know that DS-160 is what we are able to fill out now Have you checked with your embassy from the P3 letter and does it state that?) that we've gotten the case number, does it have to be the beneficiary that fills it in or can it be the petitioner? (See my answer below) (side note, it keeps timing me out and closing me out of the application, has that happened to anyone recently?) It happens to everyone if they are not saving the document as they go. Could anyone shed some answers :)

Other people can assist you with your visa application. I suggest the petitioner and the beneficiary work together in completing this. Each will review the final submission and then follow this information. Note that under U.S. law (22 C.F.R. 41.103) you must electronically sign and submit your own application unless you qualify for an exemption. Even if someone else helped you complete the application, you (the applicant) must click the “Sign Application” button, or your application may not be accepted.

Signature. The Form DS-160 shall be signed electronically from the beneficiary by clicking the box designated "Sign Application" in the certification section of the application. This electronic signature attests to the applicant's familiarity with and intent to be bound by all statements in the NIV application under penalty of perjury.

For those getting timeouts, I tried Google Chrome and I was successful.  Before I was using Safari.

For some reason the DS-160 website does not like IE as a browser.

It was a :jest:. Your one of my better pupils. :D You use the case number from NVC. The DS-160 is not used anywhere except for the day you are in front of the CO for your interview. Give it 24 hours because maybe it's down for maintenance.

it says exactly the same thing but I’m assuming it’s because our case is still at NVC? Shouldn’t the status be “ready” before we can book our interviews? @Greenbaum Thank you.
