oh dear, i didnt even look at that sheet much, i was too excited for approval, i dismissed all that extra info

Lol. In all seriousness though, you shouldnt have. That "sheet" that you didnt look at much is a MUST HAVE to apply for AOS. In fact if you dont have it, it costs an upward of $500 to replace. I suggest you un"dissmiss" it, and put it in a very safe place.

hahaha, I have every sheet of paper saved from day 1, I'm even sending a copy of my NOA2 with my AOS application, im very organized, but i did not read every single part on that sheet, i mainly read the you are approved part and i put it back in my pile for later use. but thanks for pointing that out. I'm the us citizen and i have an A# that is on my "naturalized citizen" paper so i didn't think he would have one for some weird reason. so many numbers to keep track of now.

we dont have an USCIS account#, i tries the WAC# but it wont fit.

This is from the I765 Instructions regarding SSN's:

"Item Numbers 13.a. - 17.b. Questions regarding Social Security Number (SSN). Item Number 13.a. asks you if the
Social Security Administration (SSA) has ever officially issued you a Social Security card. If the SSA ever issued a Social
Security card to you in your name or a previously used name such as your maiden name, then you must enter the SSN
from your card in Item Number 13.b.
If your request for employment authorization is approved, the SSA may assign you an SSN and issue you a Social
Security card, or issue you a replacement card. If you want the SSA to assign you a Social Security number and issue you
a Social Security card, or issue you a new or replacement Social Security card, then answer “Yes” to both Item Number
14. and Item Number 15. You must also provide your father’s and mother’s family and given names at birth in Item
Numbers 16.a. - 17.b. SSA will use Item Numbers 16.a. -17.b. in issuing you a Social Security card.
You are not required to request an SSN using this application. Completing Item Numbers 14. - 17.b. is optional.
However, you must have an SSN properly assigned in your name to work in the United States."

Question 16 and 17 disclosing your parents info is just for new SSN applicants however if you check "yes" in 13.b. you still have to disclose their information regardless of whether you already have an SSN. It's either just another part of the form that is redundant or necessary info that you must continually repeat to SSA every time you get a new card so they can ensure you are the same person everytime.

Ok I'm going to check yes, and see what happens. I just received my package back from USPS. I've fixed everything up, attached cover letters for each separate application, and added 2 photos per. Going to re-send my package now!! Using UPS this time. USPS sucks.

Okay friends! 141 pages in total and I dont feel like Googleling or researching for one more second at this point.

One final AOS question....

I have assembled everything into the three seperate packets (I485, I765, I131). I plan on placing them in 3 seperate 10×13 envelopes (florescent ones if I can find some!)

My question is this though:

I plan on sending the three envelopes all together in one USPS envelope (or bag that they offer for shipping).

1. Do I have to address EACH ONE of my packages in envelopes to the Chicago Lockbox (and self return address it to in the top left corner) PLUS label it with:

ORIGINAL SUBMISSION - FORM I-XXX- Name of Form

My Name and Alien Number

???

OR

2. Can I just mark each envelope as:

ORIGINAL SUBMISSION - FORM I-XXX- Name of Form

My Name and Alien Number

AND just label the USPS OUTER Envelope with:

USCIS

PO Box Yadda yadda

Chicago, IL

Yadda yadda

ORIGINAL SUBMISSION - FORM I-XXX- Name of Form

My Name and Alien Number

Do I need the addresses on the inner envelopes?

Thoughts on why 2. might be a bad idea....

we are waiting for somebody to reply on your question but we have a question addressed to you dear,

so you put every form in a different folder with a different cover letter as like they are 3 different applications right?

cz we saw some people putting all the forms in one big folder.

if in 3 different forlders, then it is crutial to write some info on the outer space of the envelop just in case the forms get separated ...

Yes and I want to know if I have to address those inner envelopes with the addresses too OR can I just put identifying information? The cover letter on EACH package states the address anyways.

Dont forget to change the mailing address on all your documents then if you are changing your method of shipping UPS!

You won't have a USCIS Account Number unless you filed some kind of petition online. For example, you can file your Removal of Conditions online.

oops sorry lol

well we were thinking of writing on every envelop the form name and the address of USCIS just in case.

btw if we applied for SSN but it still being processed, then we need to check no for officially being issued a SS card in form I765 right?

did you check yes or no for requesting a new SS card through this form?

I dont like saying the word "need to" when I'm not USCIS not can I spit out requirements if the issue is unclear. PERSONALLY, I would still check "yes" and elaborate on the "Additional Info" Section at the end stating that 1. You HAVE applied for the SSN but dont have your number yet in 2.That you still want them to send you a new updated card once your status is upgraded to "authorized to work"

did you check yes or no for requesting a new SS card through this form? As in my original post responding to you, I have checked "yes" even though I have already received my original SSN which I applied for before I was married. We will be attempting to change my name on THAT card next week which will be a month before my I94 expires. I checked "yes" at 13.b. because I DO want them to send me an updated card removing the conditions on it after my work authorization has been granted. If it saves me the trip going to SSA and waiting in line, then great!

Please see my original post responding to your post. You will see what I have explained in much more detail and have answered this an gave explanations as to why.

I checked yes because I ASSUME it will eliminate the step of me having to go to the SSA to replace my card for a second time.

Ie

1. Initial SSN in my maiden name

2. Replacement card in my married name applied for after marriage but before I94 expired

3. Final card with new status of now being able to work when my EAD is granted

That was my assumption that USCIS makes the request through SSA to have your card updated and sent to you without having to go into an SSA office.

I could be wrong but I did input my SSN in box 13.b of the I765 so it was understood that I already had a SSN. The instructions for the I765 also make it seem like you can order a replacement SSN card this way after work authorization is granted if you read closely. Check them out and let me know what you think....

Hey guys! What have you done to get to talk to someone from SSN? I’ve been calling every single day and there’s no way I get to talk to a person, I’ve called the local office and it’s same. I don’t know if I hit the wrong numbers but it  always asks me the social number which I don’t have.

Any help please?

This time I figured I'd two hole punch everything for them since they are going to do that anyways and use 2 hole fasteners.I still binder clipped the actual forms as a bunch inside each package though.

Again, you are fine though.
