So... we were able to pay the visa and scheduled an interview for the 19th of November, however, our case is still at NVC. If the next shipment of cases is two weeks from now (possibly Nov 13th or 14th), should we reschedule the interview? Medical exam at St Luke's apparently is a first-come, first-serve basis. Although the case is still at NVC, is it possible to complete the medical exam?

You will not be able to attend the medical without the letter from NVC stating the MNL #, scan and email a copy to your fiancée to bring to St. Luke's.  Or if you received an email from NVC with the MNL # forward this to your fiancée for SLEC. They have not put the clamps on presenting the confirmation page for the interview scheduling which we were able to use as a work around but not anymore.

Keep the interview and see what happens with your physical file. I'm pretty sure it will not go till 11/13-14 so you may have to cancel. But if you resechedule you may have to cancel that. You get 2 cancelations and then you have to start all over with the K-1 application. So be careful and think wisely.

Do you have all the information of what is needed and Hank's website?

Hey everyone,

Was wondering...

On the DS-160 it asks for my Fiancee national ID number. She is from Colombia but lives in Chile (is a permanent resident). Should she put her Chilean National ID or Colombian National ID.

Thanks!

Chile. I'm assuming by your profile that she is interviewing in Chile but your questions give me reason to inquire.

That's correct. She will be interviewing in Chile since she lives there as a permanent resident.

Finished the DS-160! 😎

Now I have a frustrating problem with the Visa Appointment website. 😡

Our lawyer sent us an email (I believe originally from the embassy) with all of the steps to set up an appointment and required paperwork we must take to the interview. There is a link in the email that sends us to the US Nonimmigrant Visa Appointment Services. I clicked "I have completed DS-160 non-immigrant visa application..." which is what they showed me that I need to select. But, next step doesn't have the K1 visa option!! 🙄 So...I went ahead and look at the "Immigrant" version of the US Visa Appointment Services website and found an option for "K Visas". I sent an email to our lawyer and he sent me a link explaining that it's strange what I'm saying and that the K1 visa is a non-immigrant visa so it's strange that there isn't the option to select K1.

I'm almost 100% sure more people have run into this problem on here. Can anyone give me some advice with what they did? Thanks!!

The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non-immigrant and immigrant visa type. That is why the links (what you received in the email) will send you the process for immigrant which would be the I-864 and DS-260 even though it truly is a non-immigrant visa requiring I-134 and the DS-160. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant (ceac.state.gov/). It stays that way until after your interview and the approval and your visa is ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non-immigrant. It truly is a non-immigrant visa with immigrant intent.

Hasn’t anyone’s case who was sent from NVC on 30/10 gone from In Transit back to at NVC? I followe it on DHL and said it arrived in the London embassy this morning and that’s when it changed back to at NVC. Hoping it’s just a glitch?

Fiance had her interview this morning. Verbally approved and was told to expect to have the package sometime next week. Thank you everyone for your support here.

Hi @Greenbaum, we just got the results from the medical. We got a sealed envelope to take to the interview and a copy of DS-3025.

Please find attached a photo.

Does this mean we don't have to see a CS in the USA before filing AOS?

 Your good to go except one question; did you get the Flu vaccination?

When does the flu season start for purposes of the seasonal flu vaccine requirement? Since the seasonal flu vaccine is required, do I have to get the seasonal flu vaccine if it is not the flu season?

A.  For purposes of the immigration medical examination, the flu season starts on October 1 and ends on March 31 each year. If your immigration medical examination is during this period, you are required to have the seasonal flu vaccine. If you have an immigration medical examination completed between April 1 and September 30, when it is not the flu season for immigration purposes, you are not required to document that you have received the seasonal flu vaccine.
