Wait about 10 business days and then begin calling. Once a day is enough. Best time to call is after 6 pm EDT.

Oh ok, so I didn't need to call after 2 weeks after the NOA 2, it's closer to a month to begin calling. Thanks again @Greenbaum

So they received my case yesterday at NVC, should I be calling every day for the case number or should I just call once per week? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Wait, didn't conarroest say the NVC already received his package? That cant be more that a couple days to get the number attached then would it? 10 Businessdays is to let the package go from USCIS to NVC, right?

That's what I was thinking but apparently not. Still a little longer to go...

Recently it's been two weeks from USCIS to NVC then another 2 weeks for NVC to assign the case number and then anther 2 weeks to the Embassy. Remember, your mileage may be different. There never is a "schedule" or a "timeline" that is accurate with these people. The best tools that I have found here on VJ is the timeline of others that are just 15-30 days ahead of me.

To avail yourself of the tools select your flag from your profile on the left column in this thread. Once on the next landing page at the top you will see "Quick Links". Scroll down to "Netherland Members" and select it. The next page gives you a grid of boxes with all the netherland members. You can then contact anyone of them for additional information about the process. Just a way to connect with someone who may have information that you don't have. Next, back to the First landing page. Scroll down the page watching the left column till you reach "VJ Netherlands Timelines". Select K-1 and out populates a box with those who are near you in processing from the Netherlands. Keep your eye on those timelines because they are going to give you realistic (ouch there's that word that everyone is avoiding for stress) timeline for your case.

I hope this has helped.

This is one of those areas that "your mileage will vary" situations. Some get it in 2 days some 2 weeks some 2 months. Once she gets the case number it's not going to help her for the China Embassy because there isn't anything she can do now. China keeps information close to the vest so it's hard to get a head start.

Our NOA2 was July 10 and case sent to the Department of State on the 11th for processing. After about another week, I will call NVC to check if they have received our case. I know it can be a few weeks beyond that to receive a case number. So, the wait continues but we are remaining positive.

So, are we able to file our paperwork when receiving the case number? Or is there a wait for that as well?

We called NVC yesterday, and we were told they just received our process yesterday (July 16th). Our Noa2 date is July 2nd.

They told us it can take up to 8 weeks to get a case number assigned, and that they will contact us when that happens so there is no need to worry. It didn't sound like we should be calling, but I figure we'll be calling once a week anyways.

I finally got lucky during this. I decided to give NVC another call tonight.  As I said they received my package yesterday so I almost listened to the advice here and was going to wait and call next week, glad I decided to call tonight. My case number was already available. Took them less than 24 hours.

Thanks for this. I rang NVC and then received our case yesterday. So going to try again later. NOA2 07/02. Fingers crossed as I really want to do my medical when Jake is over to visit next month as I think London are our 4-5 weeks out for medicals (maybe to do with time of year). Have all documents ready to go for the medical, including ACRO police certificate. I’ll report back if I get a case number so others can start predicting when they’ll get there’s.
