It depends on the Embassy. I would say that your current list of documents seems to be find with the exception of the employment letter which could be a little closer to the date of the interview. Just my opinion and may not be an Embassy requirement.

I am also sending in my 2 of most recent pay stubs, just in case my employment verification is dated too far from the interview date, one of which is dated in July. Would that be enough as a supporting document that my employment with the company is still recent and valid?

Just got off the phone with NVC, they said they just received my case today but no case number assigned. Anyone have any idea how long it takes after they receive our case to the time they assign a case number?

What phone number did you call them with? I heard on this forum it takes 2-4 weeks to get a number.

603-334-0700 is the number. Yep, I'm at 2 weeks now. Just curious if anyone knew the time frame after they confirm the case was received.

Now it has been running about 2-3 weeks from USCIS to NVC. Then 2 weeks to generate the case number. Then 2 weeks for the Embassy to receive the case. :clock:

Okay I followed your instructions.

Great. Thanks for following up on that little item. I'd like to share with you what is needed for your Embassy. This was shared by another person who about a month ago received their visa. I hope this helps you get a bit of a head start.

The P3 for GUZ is only 4 line items

1. DS-160 Confirmation Page

2. Copy of Passport Personal Page

3. 2 Passport style photos White Background, Well Lit, 50mm x 50mm

4. Return the P3 instructions page

#4 is what prevents people in China from getting a head start, they want the instructions page mailed back with the requested documents.

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-iv-visaapplyinfo.asp#KVisaPetitions

U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou when it is time to schedule an interview. K-1 visa applicants will be notified by the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou when it is time to schedule an interview.

Never heard of a guide for NVC. Your case gets passed along from USCIS to NVC. Just all there is. Do you have a specific question?

Not specifically just a lot of general questions. I liked having the K1 guide to refer back to every so often to check if I had everything.

My fiancé and I are now calling every so often to NVC to get a new casenumber. With that number I assume I can book my medical right away. Can I book my interview with that casenumber as well or do I have to wait till the case is with the embassy? Can I already send my DS160 off? I know what documents I need for the embassy and I have everything ready to go. What else can I do to speed up the process?

There will be a mailing to you from the Embassy with what is called the P3 or packet 3 letter. In it will be the details on the next steps. The information I gave you is a prelude to what is coming. More details are contained in that letter. Unfortunately, there really isn't much you can do till that letter arrives. If and when that letter gets to you can you send me a copy of the P3 requirements as I will use it, much like I did with you, to help others who come behind you.

On item people don't know about is if they have lived in another country since the age of 16 for six months or more need a Police Clearance from that/those country's.  Go to http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html and search for the country to which you lived and see the details in how to secure the PC.

You can complete your DS-160 once you have your case number.

Wait about 10 business days and then begin calling. Once a day is enough. Best time to call is after 6 pm EDT.
