Our status changed today to "ready to schedule for interview" YAY!

Now for the wait lol hard for my brain to understand how it could be in 30 days or in 30 months lol USCIS sure knows how to keep us on pins and needles.

So does this mean that we in the clear of an RFE

I need to vent about something completely unrelated but am sure some people on here deal with.  My husband comes from a country where both paternal and maternal surnames are used.  So when my husband got here and applied for SSN they said they had to use the name on his Spanish passport (paternal/maternal combo).  I said fine.  Now i am dealing with an error on his health insurance card.  They believe his paternal last name was his middle name and decided to initial it.  It was an easy fix with them but i know that i will seriously have to deal with this for a long time.

Again completely unrelated.  Just needed to vent!

Ayee
I hear ya girl- the struggle is truly real!

I think what can help is making "comments" on future paperwork stating that "LAST NAME IS ____"
To further indicate that it is not a middle name.

Off topic- but is the paternal/maternal hyphenated? I've seen in my experience that when it is hyphenated, there tends to be more understanding that that's ONE name

that's a great question.  When i was born my father said... the girl gets a first name and a last name.  (his name of course)  lol  He said more than that would be confusing.

I have never wanted to change my name (it's a personal decision and not what this post is about)  I respect any woman that does.

However, if i had to, I would take the paternal.  In my father's words... "too many names are confusing"   I think that in every country, the paternal is the one "that counts"  I hope that helps.

Girl- I saw a girl the other day with FIVE names
And am sitting here asking myself-- how does her head not hurt with all those names?

I have a first middle last. When I got married, people were giving me a headache about using my maiden name as a middle name.
And I was like forget it! I like my current middle name- i can't drop it and you can forget about me having my current middle name and making my maiden name another middle name! NO way am I gonna have 2 middle names!

It's crazy. I swear

Nope.. it's not.  Passport has them listed as first last name and second last name.  That's how they do it in Spain.

I already told him that if our future kid is mistakenly given his second last name by accident, i will kill him.  His first last name is his paternal and the one that counts.  It is also prettier than the mother's last name.  LMFAO

Attention to details. LOL

Oh yea. If it's not hyphenated, I promise you 60% of America will mess that up ALL the time.
I had many friends with the paternal/maternal thing and they just ended up hyphenating so things like this don't keep happening

Yea I thought about hyphenating my maiden and his paternal last name. But I heard its a headache when doing official documents and official signatures. So I just let it go. lol

Hi July filers! So our NOA is for July 9th 2018 and my husband had biometrics on July 31st.  We have bills that are past due and he won't be able to use his driver's license when his I94 expires in 3 months.  Do you think we can expedite his EAD?

@Tilde333 I think thats valid evidence that you'll need to expedite based on financial hardship. I'd say go for it!

We're in Woodbridge Va so I can vouch that the public transportation, or the lack there of, this area is the worst I've ever seen and don't get me started on the job market! Good luck!

There's certainly no harm in trying
Make sure u add as much evidence as you can!

I've heard people getting denied because their initial evidence was not enough.

Good luck!
