Have you got packet 3 from London or know if it’s required for the medical? My fiancé and I want to skip waiting for it if we can. We have everything needed, just waiting on case number..

I personally didn’t wait for packet 3 as I’ve heard so many cases of it never arriving or arriving after medical and interview. I just proceeded without it

also I don’t think it is needed for medical, you just need evidence of your LND number

Quick clarification question. So the fiancee visa is a non-immigrant visa because it is just to get to the country right?

The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non immigrant and immigrant visa type. That is why the links send you the process for immigrant which would be the I-864 even though it truly is a non immigrant visa requiring I-134. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant. It stays that way until after your Embassy interview approval and then ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non-immigrant. It truly is a non- immigrant visa with immigrant intent.

Things really do seem to move fast for some embassies.  NVC transmitted our case to the embassy in Manila on the 18th; Friday here, Saturday there.  It was in received/ready status by end of day Sunday here/Monday there.

Fiance had day one of her medical today and has to go back for vaccinations tomorrow.  Then interview June 5th.

We were nervous about the medical given some stories about false positives on the x-ray TB test since that throws an extra 2 months of sputum testing into the works.  She still doesn't have official results, but the doctor at least told her the xrays and physical exams are cleared :)  phew!

I'd like to point out that TB can kill if not detected and cured. So being nervous is one thing but having the knowledge that you either have it or don't is PRICELESS. Why, because you just saved a life.  If non of her family members have it there is a good case that she won't either because TB is usually transferred from another person that you are in close proximately to family members fit that definition. Right now you are sitting with good news thus far.

My wife was so afraid of having TB that to calm her nerves, I agreed to paying for her to have a private physician who is a specialist in TB and xray reads. Since a friend of hers worked for the Doctor she was able to arrange for the three of them go and have tests. The were negative which put my wife at ease. Once through SLEC she told me the same, no signs of TB. So I understand your concern.

Yes you can wait or you can schedule your interview and keep the visa train moving.

For my fiancee’s medical interview they are asking for her “alien number.” Is that the NVC number or the number above her name on the NOA2 in the beneficiary section? Or is it the uscis receipt number?

It's the number listed above her name on the NOA2. Keep the NOA2 safe as you will need it for future use and the A-number will be asked again.
