Hello,

I've been lurking here for a couple months, I've gotten a notice that we're receiving a RFE today. I'm so nervous.

So I've looked at my copy of the i129f that I sent, and saw that on the page 9 of the form, where they asked if we're Multiple Filer Waiver Request info, 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d said Not applicable, beneficiary is my spouse or I am not a multiple filer

I did not check on any of those, Am I suppose to check on the 5d?

This is my first time filing for any thing so I am not a multiple filer and the beneficiary is not my spouse. I just wanted to make sure if that's what needed to be checked.

Thank you in advance for your help

Oct 24 NOA 1

@Naes if you could help since you're so knowledgeable

As @PME & MCGA said you should check “I’m not a multiple filer” I believe that’s 5d.

I've read on this forum before that, yes, you should have checked 5d.

I'm worried too that I might get an RFE because of that item. I wonder if anyone has failed to answer it and did not get an RFE. Any lucky one?

I don’t even think anyone would realize what they did or not if they didn’t get an rfe... but as they seem to like giving out rfes this year I would expect one. Sorry :(

@aiiley yep, you should check 5d. I got a RFE because of that

Nothing happened today....    😢  200+

@IamAR

I know exactly how you feel. What stressed me out even more is when we had weeks and days without much movement. I really really think because of the new website most cases are no longer public and the app can no longer collect much info. Even when you call tier 1 they can access the new site and info which they couldn't do before.  I can't tell you to not worry or stress because it's difficult but i can tell you that it's nothing to worry about. Just call again in a few days. That always helped me even if those mofo gave me the same bullshit answer. Hold tight!!!! Lots of love and prayers for you 🤞🤞

What is process after approval ??

Can any one guid me please

You get a case number from national visa center after your petition is approved. That takes anywhere from 7 to 30 days i believe.. then you fill out the ds 160 form using that number. It gets sent to the beneficiary country's embassy and i think they send you a packet

You schedule an interview and then medical.

Please correct me or add on to it if i forgot a steps.

So, just to update you guys. My fiance received our NOA2 notice in the mail on Monday and low and behold they mixed up my name on the notice. They put my last name as my middle name, my middle name as my first name and my middle name as my last name. I don't know how they did this, as we filled out the paperwork correctly, and our NOA1 notice has my name in the correct order.

My finance called USCIS yesterday to inform them of the error, and the lady was shocked to hear that we had received our NOA2, and said that her system was showing that out case was received on 31st October, and nothing more. It wasn't showing the notice of approval.

Now I'm actually very worried.

I checked the new site and our case is showing as approved, but on the only website our case is showing as received.

The lady said got my fiance to verify our details and then she updated the name order and gave my finance a reference number and said we would receive a notice confirming the update.

Should I be worried if their system is showing as received and not as approved? Has anyone heard of this happening before?

😀😀😀 I hope your mom won't go way too overboard and drive you crazy... If she's anything like my mother and you don't yet have children I think you better prepare for the "I want grandchildren" statements after the wedding

Wow this is really weird and I haven't read anything like it in this forum but I don't think you should worry. I think your case was probably approved for real and not updated b/c of name error.  Even if they didn't approve it they probably will now after you told them what happened... good luck!

That name being wrong is weird. But i dont think you need to worry. The regular callcenter people don't know what they're talking about most the time so I'm sure that you got your noa-2 for real.

Concerning the sites, it's normal for one or then other (or either) not to get updated. I wouldn't worry about that.

Thanks a lot for your support! Today is day 198 for me and I was actually hoping to get an approval today... not sure how to feel... sometimes I feel like I'm NEVER going to get a response but I know that's not true... I'm definitely getting tired of waiting but seeing @Sarac9 approval gave me hope and joy. I hope mine will come sooner than later🙏

Hang in there @DonAnn!!! Almost to the half finish line lol

Just like @Little_Vixen said

They don't know anything

Call and request for tier 2 and see if they can help you. But i wouldnt worry too much because they have a copy of your passport and birth certificate.
