Hi,

I am new to forum. I have applied immigration visa for my spouse. It is taking so long. I need to visit my wife my green card is expiring in 80 days. I have heard i should have 6 months validity on my green card to return back to the US. I have heard about F-551 stamp to travel even if my green card is expired.

If i renew my green card it takes 5 months. I want to travel in 30 days. I want to know about F-551 stamp. Where do I have to go to get the stamp.

Also I am thinking If I want to apply student visa for my wife can i do it while her immigration visa is also applied for.

we’re all waiting but asking for a student visa when a i-130 is in process doesn’t look good to immigration. with student and tourist visa you need to show proof you’ll leave, they’re visas with no intent to stay in the country. i was planning to do it myself but it’s not the solution to this long wait unfortunately

Yup!! They're currently telling everyone that the wait time is 8 weeks. My 8 weeks were up, so I called last week and had it escalated to a supervisor, then last night got the case number and already paid our fees.

Best of luck to you! Hope you get yours sooner. :)
