Well here in BR, in order to schedule the interview, beneficiary files out a DS-160 form online (same form as a tourist visa), and that's where we'll put our email. Ring your embassy, maybe they'll help you out!

yeah it looks like the steps are:

1. Embassy receives petition, marks it as "ready" (HOW WILL I KNOW IT'S READY)

2. We fill out DS-160, put an email address there

3. Pay the visa application fee

4. Use receipts of payment to verify that we can schedule, then schedule an interview

I think that's what it is.  I guess i'm just trying to cut down on the wait time for Step 1, but i'm not sure if we can.

I feel like a pro, even though I only have a NOA2. You will know its ready by using the number NVC gives you, selecting Check My Visa Application Status then "immigrant visa" at this website https://ceac.state.gov/

Thought this info might help you all that are just starting with the next steps after NOA2:

Assigning a case number after NVC receives your case is taking longer than it has the last few weeks. Can be up to 8 weeks I was told today. Best to not call multiple times a day like I have since NVC received my case a week ago to not drive yourself mad 😅. Slight slowdown at the NVC headquarters!

I've been ringing every day once we hit one week and no success. We're at 12 days, so I would say yeah, wait 2 weeks and ring, unless you handed your notice and is using your work phone to ring the US for free like I am lol

Beneficiary can contact NVC.  It is only USCIS that has that restriction. Once you get past USCIS the beneficiary has some rights.  Good luck to you.  My NOA2 date was March 8!  Lets get this moving!

I was nosying in this thread to see how March NOA2s were doing, and saw this!! Oh my gosh, congratulations! I'm very happy for you. Nobody in your life will ever be able to call you impatient again. :D You and Rose are saints for handling this awful process with dignity. I wish you all the speed on your next stages!

Thank you so much. Indeed the process sucks. We were just lucky enough to be able to separate the process from our love. She was amazing. I couldn’t have done it without her and the people here.

Just called and have an absolutely lovely chat with an old man at the NVC. He says my case isn’t there yet, but it can take 6 weeks for it to get there from USCIS. BUT he asked me my relation to the beneficiary and when I said fiancé he first off congratulated me (how unexpectedly nice) and then said that fiancés are usually out pretty quickly. He literally said “all the other types of petitions will be jealous by how fast you’ll get out of here. We’re just hi/bye for fiancés.” I asked about what they do and he said mostly it’s just asking three numbers case number, invoice number and beneficiary ID. He said sometimes other things happen but most cases are straightforward.

Also he was so chipper about them getting only 18” of snow today. What do they put in the water in NH?!

This is so sweet 😭

Ha ha. Nah didn't quit yet. Will wait to get the visa first. Luckily I have a good phone plan, can call US and Canada (200 min limit) included a lot of data... and it's cheap. Will miss cheap and good phone plans. Looked up US phone plans, they scared me :)))
