Good news!!! They received our case today and was told by the delightful Felix that it was just scanned in! I’ll call back in a few days but hoping we get a case number while I am with my ❤️ In Wales at the end of the week! @Swissmiss82 and @NICK & PAULA I knew it was going to be a great week!😀

NOA2 March 2

I just called, still no case number... it's been 23 days. This feels personal. Anyone else in my shoes?

Nope, My NOA2 was Mar 3, I called every other day to NVC and just today they acknowledged they received the paperwork Friday. They gave me the spiel about 8 weeks blah blah blah blah. Meanwhile the already tenuous diplomatic relationship is further degrading and the 2 month+ embassy wait time is increasing.

For people in group 5 when calling NVC, how long did it take for it to go from at NVC to in transit?

I think it was pretty instantaneous since I got the email with the case number and the email with expedited notice in the same minute. :)

Friends i am a bit in a dilema, i have purchased a ticket before we received our noa2 for my fiance to come visit me with esta. is she still able to visit me while we wait for nvc to send our stuff to the embassy. we have not made multiple trips, only one when we went to visit my parents for a week.

If she comes, with the noa1 or noa2 in her hand in case they ask?

I am looking at the website for us embassy in canada.

“‘Most immigrant visa applicants are scheduled for interview by NVC

Have you tried asking in the Canadian sub-forum to those who have gone before you that have experience. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/93-canada/

Do you have a copy of the Embassy letter or what some call the Packet 3? If not here it is https://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf

What is this "Group 5" thing people keep referring?

Let me make sure I understand this right -

1. Call NVC to check that it's been received, once received they will then assign a case number.

2. Use that number to login CEAC where I can check the status (and begin filling out the D 160 form?)

3. When marked "READY" we can schedule the interview

If you don't have the P3 letter (Embassy Letter) for Thailand this is the link to use. https://th.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/90/k-packet-3-instruction-mar2018-english.pdf

Give you a head start in what is needed for the interview.

We have our case number from the NVC now!  Spoke to Angus at NVC.  He seemed genuinely happy to relay the news.  He provided the number and then gave a 2 minute explanation of the next steps in the process.  When he finished, I said I was sorry I wouldn't need to talk to him again.  He laughed and said I can call any time because they are always happy to talk to people about their case status.  Wow . . . such a refreshing change from USCIS! - Jason

Here is the P3 letter (Embassy Letter) for Vietnam. https://vn.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/40/K-Instruction.pdf

This  will give you a little head start on what is needed for the interview. I hope it helps.

Aww thank you! The Ghana embassy can be...problematic, so I'm just trying to be happy for every small victory and not worry about the what-ifs.  I'm sure you'll get yours soon!

I can imagine it might be. Is it in Accra? Do you have to travel for it, too? Or maybe you're the petitioner? :) Anyway it'll be interesting to read the review later on.

and usually company phones do have international plans! check with your local IT to confirm :D so you don't feel guilty!

Ah gotcha! Unfortunately I'm pretty sure we don't have an international plan, I will double check that however, thanks for the tip :)
