Hi all,

We had a little error to fix in our file and therefore called to see if our letter with the correction had arrived.

Did anyone else get a strange info from the tier 2 that K-1 fiance visa now will take 12-18 months?

Nobody has touched our file yet, tier 2 said.

Our NOA1 is March 26 old site, March 29th new site.

It was just very strange, I was wondering if she was confusing with another petition, but she had our file open and knew we were applying for the i129F K1 fiance visa.

We were a little bit shocked because we were expecting an approval in beginning of October. And she told us, that this is gonna be a very long wait and that the fiance petitions have slowed down extremely.

It does not make sense, because I see the 6-7,5 months approvals here all the time... ??

Did anyone get the same info?

It sounds like they are referring to the entire process from start to finish on how long it will take to actually obtain the K-1 Visa. You are correct in that this part of the process (waiting to receive the NOA2) takes about 5-7 months. But we still have atleast a few months to go after receiving the NOA2. Therefore it could take 12-18 months total.

@Catheryne  Yes I get the same impression, that they like to scare people off a little, so you don't call again and you don't get too excited ;)

In the same time she mentioned that the error was not a big deal, but that we should not get our hopes up hearing anything very soon.

I really hope you are right and this is just false info. Thank you! ❤️

It seems like all of the people getting approved so far have their petitions being processed at the California service centre, I've also seen one Texas one , but fingers crossed the rest will follow suit!

I feel I've read that most K1 visas are processed by California unless there are special circumstances.

This is one of many reasons why it is not wise to call before 210 days or outside normal processing times. They will tell u something different every time u call.

If u feel the need to call prior to 210 I suggest waiting till after 200 days. Not that they won't give u wrong or false info then. But chances are slightly better...

IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

I keep seeing posts from people explaining how some days USCIS isn't working on processing our paperwork. And generally seeing people say how they notice things based on whatever people are showing on here for getting approved. I hope everyone understands this is just a fraction of all the filers out there. We chose to join this group but there's plenty others out there that are not part of this forum. So to make assumptions on dates or how many approvals are going through solely based on this forum is not a good idea because we are just a small % of everyone. Plus they are also still working on February. On average I am seeing a lot of approvals the last few months go between 6.5 and 7 months. Please stay patient everyone and don't worry about what the USCIS is doing just based on what you're seeing in this forum. It won't help you and its not completely accurate.

It's safe to assume that only 10% join this forum per month. It should put things into more of a perspective for u all.

Some days u won't see any or maybe only a few approvals. But, there's 90% of others that have filed and are most likely getting approved.

On a average week from vj members only u will see about 50 approvals for ur current month. Then as time passes it slowly  Dwindles down in numbers.

Keep in mind that adjusters are doing current month, rfe, and previous months also. It's a lot of u break it all down.
