Hey guys posting again. We got an RFE according to the new website it was mailed on October 2nd but it’s already been 11 days and nothing has arrived in the mail. Am waiting to request a new one but gosh does it really take that long to mail it? Is this even normal?😩

Oh I'm so sorry. My RFE took less than a week to get to me in the mail. I have heard the same from most everyone else. I would definitely call because maybe they didn't have the correct address or something happened to it.

Finally... Approved! After getting an RFE and all that.

NOA1: 05/05/18

RFE: 09/16/18

RFE received by USCIS: 10/02/18

NOA2: 10/05/18 but received in mail on 10/08

Even though my RFE date look far from when they received it. That is because I was in my fiance's country when it got to my home so I had to wait almost a week from that to mail it. So really only took a few days for them to receive it. And even better only took a few days for them to approve it! So I'm thankful it was a quicker turn around for that than I expected. My next question is what do I do now? Do people know the average time frames of the next steps? And if there's another point coming up where I need to make a payment again?

Congratulations! It will go to the NVC next where they process it and assign you a case number before forwarding it onto the embassy. My NOA2 was 20th Sept and still not received a case number yet but others have. It can take up to 6 weeks.

Congrats! Next you'll spend a month in the NVC stage and then it's interview and medical from there. The next payment you can expect is the visa fee (paid to your embassy) and the medical fee (paid to their chosen medical provider) so get ready to cough up more $$$.

Thank you. Does the paperwork like tax forms and affadivit of support get sent to the NVC then or when do you send those things? Or whatever else they need?

Those are for the embassy. You don't actually do anything with the NVC except do more waiting until they receive your case and assign you a case number. But those weeks are a good time for you and your fiance to get prepared.

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1
