Thank you very much. I really wish this will be over soon. LOL. I started writing a blog for the process here in Qatar. Coz there are a lot of posts in the Philippines and in other countries, but I haven't found one for Qatar. Who knows, maybe in the future people can use my experience to guide them through the K1 process. :) Anyway, thanks again.

You just made my day. :dance:  If more people helped others where  information is not readily available, as is your case, then how much easier it would be for others. Now I wish those who get help from others were more thankful much like you are. Keep looking forward and you will soon have your visa in your hands.

Has anyone who has done their interview brought a scrapbook for pictures?  We already have a good one and I hate for her to have to do more work, but didn't know if they need to be on individual sheets or you can just hand over the book.

See my answer in the Philippines Sub-Forum where you had also asked the question.

I don't know how mine could have went through mail that quick, but oh well!  I still have gotten no email notifications or letter.

The use DHL as their service and it's sent just about everyday of course not weekends.

You want to have some fun. Try this:

Go to www.dhl.com and click Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, and on this page you add your search information. You change the day and month to what you think your package might have left NVC or call NVC to get the date your package had left NVC in route to Manila then go to the DHL website and enter the following information:

EXAMPLE:

* Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A

* Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011

* Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011

Account Number - Leave this blank

Shipment Destination: Manila / Works for any Country

Question about ds-160

There is a question about listing countries of residence (6 months or more). Do you include home country here too or just other countries?

Just other countries. Those countries will require a Police Clearance from them for the interview so it's best to get started now as some take weeks to get. Also, some will not issue a PC if you are not there in person to make the request. In that case your CO at the interview will know which country's have that policy. As a precaution, I would print a copy of that page in the event that the CO does not know. It's happened before.

Here is the information on how to get PC's for those countries you need one from. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html

Hey everyone,

I got an email from NVC today saying that they already sent my petition to the US Embassy of my fiance's country. But it says that the embassy will contact him to schedule the interview and that the interview date was provided to us by the NVC? Does anyone know if they are the ones who schedules the interview or we have to do it? Kind of confused here.

You don't indicate in your profile what country. What country are you asking about? Some do and some don't. I might have more definitive answer once I know your Embassy. Many of you have not visited your Embassy web page where a lot of your questions can be answered. Also, you may want to look here: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/ for the answer to your question. Good luck.

Hello all,

I was wondering about the Employment Verification Letter for proof of income. Do you know how recent it must be? Also, if it requires a wet signature from HR or an electronic version is OK? Thank you and good luck on interview!

Electronic version is OK. Just as long as it is on company letterhead and signed and dated. No older than 60 days.

Crazy that snail mail is still an option! Hope the process goes well. Don’t forget Holy Week in the Phil - so the embassy and businesses will be closed in observation during that time. I pray you get your update soon 🙏🏻

From NVC to USEM (Philippines) the paper copies are sent via DHL so no more than 3 days to arrive.

This is my first post on VJ. I can’t find this answer anywhere else and it’s driving me mad...

my Fiancee lived in the U.S. for 18 months legally. So everything we are reading is saying that she needs a “police certificate” from any country she has lived in for more than 6 months since the age of 16. Does she need a police certificate from the U.S.? And if she does how do we get one?

Thank you for any help or links!

USICIS does a background check through the FBI and other sources if needed (Homeland Security) so one is not needed for the US portion for the time that you lived there. Just follow this link to determine other places if needed.

Hi @Greenbaum , you have been very helpful here especially with the Philipino community.

My fiancee is not from Philipine but I have a couple questions that I think you can help me.... during the AOS process

1. How long is the AP valid for?

2. Can my future wife stay out of the country for about 4 weeks with her AP? She would like to visit her dad in her country.

3. How many times she will be able to use the AP???

Thank you.

Anyone from Mumbai India K1 Interview scheduling got dates for April  20, 27th recently ? I keep seeing April 13th available since yesterday but none for last week of April.

My PCC application requires local Police Verification - takes atleast 3 weeks on average as passport was issued in Indian Consulate abroad and in such case current address matching that of passport makes no difference; it triggered a Pre-Verification.

I had April 6th booked earlier but canceled it and now looking to move it further by two weeks.

Thank you for your response. I already have police certificated required 😊 I was just wondering if I should list on ds160 also my home country as I currently live there. I just found it tricky (I tend to overthink stuff) if citizen means the same for them as resident. At first I didn't put my home country in that section but as I got paranoid I filled another ds160 with my country on it this time😂.
