Public service announcement:

My NOA1 was February 6. I got very dismayed as a saw a flurry of approvals for people with that date and after that date come in last week. I got even more depressed as our VJ timeline date came and went.

This morning, I received an envelope from DHS and opened it to find my NOA2 dated to August 16. I was shocked!!! I had signed up for email and text alerts and had been religiously checking the new and old UCICS websites--none of them ever said that our case had been approved. Even now, the only notification is via snail mail. Not really sure why I was not informed digitally as requested, but maybe other people out there have NOA2s in the mail and don't even know it yet.

Good luck!

Congratulations

this is is why I have been telling everyone to check there snail mail. You just so happen to be 1 of the 30% that receive nothing except for a hard copy noa2.

I find this to be great news as people will see that there is still a chance they have received a approval. Just not aware of it yet..

IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

Guys, I have some questions to those filipino beneficiaries in here.

I was married in the states before but now divorced to my ex husband . My now fiance and I filed for K-1 and also a feb. Fillers like you guys. My question is since my ex and I married in the states and we did not report our marriage to the Philippines I was still able to get my CENOMAR,  now the problem is the CFO, someone told me to lie to the CFO and tell them I did not marry my fiance before because if I do they would ask for annulment or report of marriage which takes forever and need lots of money. What should I do guys? I'm sure they'll find out I was married before because even though my passport still in my maiden name the visa will be in my married name because my ex didn't change back my last name to maiden name when he filed our divorce.

Any opinions guys? I'm so stressed right now. No CFO means I can't get out of the country even if I have a visa... 😭😭😭

So this might be a dumb question, but here it goes... I've read people talk about the background checks holding cases up. Do they do a background check on petitioner and the foreign fiance? Even if the fiance has never been in the US? Just curious, because I know my background check with the FBI is good because I have done them several times for state licenses..... either way I know we will still waiting awhile, but I am just curious.

It's a much more extensive check than what we generally go through for employment or housing. Quite a few pages back someone posted a link to something that explained how it's a multi-agency check that requires information from different locations and other local and foreign government agencies. Some respond to these inquiries faster than others and this is what causes cases to fall out of order. Information is requested in order of receipt, but it isn't always received in the same order. Some cities, states, countries etc. are slower or faster than others. Oh, and these checks are done for both the petitioner and beneficiary.

It's my understanding that the Philippines recognizes a divorce from the US.  Do not lie.  Research the subject and find out exactly what documentation would satisfy their needs.  Trust me, I would not wish anyone to have to go through the annulment process over there.  From my experience with my fiancée it's bureaucratic and corrupt.

Thank you. A friend of mine called CFO and ask about my case and they said I should be fine with no problems, but they advice me to have the CFO done now even without the NOA2 just in case there's a problem so we can solve it earlier. So I'm going to have it next week.

GUYS I CAN’T BELIEVE MY EYES 😍

NOA1 - 15th Feb

NOA2 - 21th August

So we were actually approved yesterday I just limit myself to checking once a day to prevent torturing myself with the dreaded “we’ve received your case” 😂

We checked just after 4:30am (in Texas) this morning and saw our new approval message.

About an hour later my fiancé received a text message from USCIS saying there was an update 🙌🏼 (Don’t worry USCIS we know we are addicted to refreshing your site) 😂

BRING ON THE REST OF THE FEB APPROVALS AND ALL THE JANS AND 2017 CASES STILL HANGING IN THERE!!

You guys are next ❤️
