His point was that political dynasties are bad, but financial/wealth dynasties are okay?

 

When does one become the other? His daughter and her husband are in unappointed positions of power, with no experience to justified their appointments. Is that okay? I'd say it's worse. Does it become a problem when/if they run for an elected office? Is just one family member following in the politician's footsteps a problem, or is it multiple?

 

It's sort of funny because in some professions a "dynasty" is seen as a perfectly fine thing. I'm the 5th Doctor in my father's family. My great grandfather cared for similar patients in the early 20th century. I talk about that with pride, and most people see it as either meaningless, or a nice compliment to who am I as a person and physician. Absolutely my success going to medical school and beyond was in part due to my family's history (I had more financial support, more opportunities, I had mentors at Universities that knew my father). Was that a bad thing?

 

I don't actually know the answer to that question to be honest.

Trump is so far from a political dynasty its not even debatable.  Trump and his family are once in a lifetime national treasures that we are blessed to have.

If people so against "dynasties" wouldn't they prefer someone who came from relatively humble beginnings, attended Harvard on his own merits, was President of the Harvard Law Review (again without a family dynasty to back him up), taught constitutional law, served three terms in a State Senate and then 1 term in the US Senate?

 

It seems crazy to act like having "community organiser" on the CV is a bad thing, after we talk about how much we dislike political dynasties holding power.

 

If we don't like the "self-made" story, and we don't like the "rich political family" story....what do we prefer? Somehow the "rich but not political" family is the perfect middle ground?

Who cares that a politician lies?  Don't they all lie?  Sure, you want to put some level of degree onto Trump, but honestly, can you say he lies any more than Pelosi or Schumer?

trump's words are the proof. plenty of journalists are keeping track of his lies. look it up if you want proof. maybe start looking into proof behind trump's false assertions, no? no point cause nobody tells the truth? lol.

I hate Trump.  I don't need proof that he lies more than any other politician. 

 

That is all some people need.  Saw it with Obama, seeing it with Trump.
