I think you keep confusing reality with talking about future changes.

Again I realize right now anyone qualifies if they meet the requirements. If people or so concerned about our welfare state I'm talking about changing that. Particularly for immigrants.

Would certainly make immigration less appealing for some.

Are we talking about age discrimination again?

Well, as a Mexican National living in the Border (Juarez, right where the Consulate for Green card interviews is), i can tell you right away that the current family chain immigration policy is being abused way beyond control.  A lot of people who have US visas go and give birth in the US (15 minute drive), with the excuse of "giving their child a better future", but the reality is that they do it with the intention of immigrating themselves as parents of a USC when the time comes.  This is not exclusive of people from Mexico, a lot of people from different countries that live here (We have a huge variety of manufacturing companies from around the world) do the same.

All this problem goes beyond abusing the immigration system, it goes from giving birth by abusing the Medicaid program and never paying a single penny, to people that i know that are on welfare, get food stamps, enroll in multiple state welfare support programs, while in reality they actually never need it. And most of this people, who usually own a GC, they don't even live in the USA, they pay no taxes on the US, and take advantage of cheap rent here in Mexico.

As i said this is not exclusive of Mexican Nationals, people from all over the world abuse the system, I've traveled a lot, and people from around the world agree that this is the way everybody tries to abuse the system, that in the end, the ones that end up paying for all of this are regular tax payers.

My opinion is, chain migration is out of hand, you don't need your parents here in the US to live (most countries don't allow this), much less your siblings.    It's better to make the system much more efficient for spouses or children that really need to be reunited with their families.

Immigration status discrimination.

Qualification wouldn't discriminate based on their age, but on their visa type.

so ignore politifact and go with common sense. there's a reason trump/white house can't offer any evidence to back the claim up. but since you're out of the gate ignoring facts (that are easily checked, this is an immigration forum after all) to repeat a lie told by trump to rile up his xenophobic base, and screaming 'leftist' - we're probably done here.

Blablabl you got some other talking points straight  out of the democratic playbook. Its very easy once you help one person immigrate directly they will then sponsor and so on . Everyone knows its happening. Dont deny it

That's what cigna paid.

I remember the breakdown: hospital for two-night stay, obgyn, pediatrician, anesthesiologist, and others... The obgyn alone was $7k. The anesthesiologist was almost $3k. The hospital bill was the higher.

Your case was an outlier then. For C-section the average cost in NYC is about 15,000 dollars last I checked (about 2 years ago). That is all inclusive of individual services.

I can provide a reference later when I'm on a computer.

Thank you for sharing what the reality is like. Just like you I live close to the border. And the posters here from Washington DC and other places live in there bubble have no clue what the hell they are talking. I see about immigration fraud an abuse nearly every day and especially in regards to chain migration and the whole visa process in general

One weird thing would be to insure Medical risks in the Dutch market where the premiums I assume are much cheaper when you live in the US.

The general rule of thumb back in the day was that you at least doubled premiums where the US was involved.

It would not be Obamacare compliant btw.

Ok I see, yeah my experience was that even the insurance didn't knew how to handle the situation. It was almost like it was new to them, first they cancelled my insurance, then they send me a letter stating that I was required to keep the insurance. Its required by law

My guess is that they will change this in the future and that they will raise the premiums for people living temporary in America.

Just checked the claims for my son (can't check my daughter as I can only go back 24 months) and total billed was $31,974.76. Paid was slightly lower (about $29k). Our out-of-pocket was $442.

And she only stayed in the hospital one night after delivery (although she was admitted the night before, so it might still count as two nights).

It would be interesting to see how it would play out for pending petitions. There are some sibling petitions that are being processed from mid 90s.

Yeah my former coworker's last sisters petition became current last month. It's only been 19 years so no biggy.
