Someone who works for USCIS or US Department of Homeland Security are eligible to use immigration, such as any citizen, including to petition for family, etc. to come live in the US.

If you're indicating whether they can help you in your petition, no they cannot - it would be against their ethics and probably would get them fired if they tried.

i have a friend that works for u.s. homeland security was wondering if they are allowed to use k 1 visa process.

I work for the DOD and I used the K1 for my wife no problem.

If he is a USC, sounds like he might not be.

Question seems kind of ambiguous from OP, right? My husband works for USCIS/Homeland Security and they only hire USCs. If the friend isn't a USC, how can he be working for DHS? Or is the friend asking if USC friend can use the K1 to petition...in that case, answer is yes.

There are no restrictions. But if your friend has a security clearance he has to find out if marriage to a foreign national could affect that. Dominican Rep is not Russia so it might not be an issue.

If he's an employee I would expect that he would know if he does or does not have restrictions.

Unless he works for their service line.  They don't know %@%$.

Seriously?   if your friend really works for Homeland Security he/ she knows the answer to this question/ they are well versed in the rules and laws they have to follow

if they are new to the job, they have the resources to find out without asking in VJ

Really? You think someone  know everything about the visa process because he works for homeland security? Lol.

Dude works at the zoo totally knows everything about lions (works in the cafeteria.)  Yeah same thing.

OP yes your friend can do the K1 process.  This isnt like a supermarket sweepstakes.  However, as mentioned, depending on his security clearance he may need to be careful about marrying a foreigner.

The eligibility for the petitioner is he/she should be a US Citizen for I-29F. It don't matter if they work for the govt, private, a student, unemployed or even receive SS benefits on the grounds of disability.
