For what I've seen lately EAD and AP are taking longer now, around 5 months (kind of a similar thing to what has been happening to NOA2), while I'm not completely sure about AOS, but it seems to be around 9-10 months minimum right now

I am not sure my fiance is going to be happy about that. She had her OPT card to start working here in the states back in February, lost it when she had to go home. Waiting 6 months to work after having spent the time and energy on her MBA will drive her a bit nuts.

Will you create another thread for when you start  your AOS? because if that's the case I TOTALLY want to be in it! PLEASE!

Uh oh, AOS (+AP+EAD) is a whole new world to discover

I have no idea when we'll be sending our petition, so most likely someone else will have already started the thread for that month by then?

Unknown mysteries of the future :P

Pretty understandable! I don't think any of us are happy with the fact we have to have our lives put on hold... once again

We can always hope they pick up the pace, but given the experience with NOA2, better to prepare for the longest wait and hope for a shorter one :)

Oh I know, she just has gotten fed up with her father at this point. Keeps giving her flack about the fact that according to him she has never worked just always been in school (not true). Basically just being grumpy about all that he has spent on her education. For her the job is more to make a point to him than anything.

Our paperwork should have arrived to the Madrid Embassy this past Tuesday 9/26, but we have not heard anything from the Consulate about scheduling our appointment. I emailed them on Wednesday to confirm the receipt of the paperwork on Wednesday and they did not reply.  I am concerned because we never got a formal letter with Packet 3, but instead received it via email only after having solicited it ourselves well after it arrived to the Consulate.  It doesn't seem like they are proactive in their communication. Our NVC letter was dated 8/29 and the Consulate replied to our email about packet 3 on 9/19. They should have received Packet 3 from us on 9/26.  Now we are just waiting for them to let us schedule the interview (which is a very arbitrary step imo - why do we need permission to schedule?).  I was hoping to have the interview by 10/15 but it doesn't sound like that is going to happen. :(

Yeah, for some things you have said it seems her family is being a bit hard to deal with regarding some of this process

Investing on education will pay off in the future and I'm sure she's going to prove that to everyone :) I guess she'll just have to be patient (again! :girlwerewolf2xn:) and I think there's an option to expedite the EAD if you have a job offer, so maybe that can work too. As I said, everything AOS related is a whole new world to discover

Unfortunately it's how it works with them here. I'd say keep an eye on the tracker, to see when they are touching your case again. The average for them to respond with the authorization is a week, for what I've seen, so maybe give them till next Tuesday.

Definitely try to inquire about it along next week, since the week after that they have 2 vacation days (Monday and Thursday).

We just got our NOA2! 164 days. Casetracker and online still hasn't updated, but I had submitted an inquiry to USCIS and we just reached the 15 day response period today, so they sent and email saying the case had been approved Sept 27th.

The California Service Center no longer has jurisdiction over your petition, which our records indicate was approved on September 27, 2017, and is currently in transit to the U.S. Department of State, Consular Section, for K-1 visa processing.

A bit annoying since I called and talked to a tier 2 on the 27th who was rude and said its still processing and we need to wait til outside of normal processing times, but doesn't matter now! On to the next step!

Congratulations!!!!  :)

I think Im gonna do something useful in this time, like maybe study for a "job" thats gonna be helpful for when Im allowed to really work. Im an Industrial Engineer, but I think my job wont translate well and I wont get a job being that. So maybe I will study to be a hairdresser. I dunno this is me just imagining right now. At this point who knows?

Industrial Engineer will translate over just fine. The US has plenty of manufacturing and several US Universities offer it as a major.

I think my fiance was looking into what charities/non-profits are in town and find one to go work at a couple times a week as a volunteer. Allows her to get out of the house and meet some people in town, might help her when she can work.

Thats the thing, my major is Quality and more Administrative focused.

when I say Industrial engineer everyone things about production lines and manufacturing, but in reality Ive been doing schedules for constructions, budget control for a green power company.

So I dunno, maybe have a second option in case the Engineer thing doesnt work for me

Still a need for that sort of thing in the US. Every manufacturing plant is going to have a scheduler, quality control department, all sorts of niches. I am sure you can find a good translation here.
