I had my interview yesterday. Everything went very well and smooth. My interview officer was very kind. It took around 30 minutes, but I had to wait almost 2 hours for my number to be announced before the interview. Anyways, I passed the test and my case was recommended for approval. When I checked my uscis status last night, I saw that my status changed to "oath ceremony will be scheduled". That's what I'll be waiting for as the next and final step.

Good luck everyone

My advice to anyone from Manhattan eligible for citizenship in the next 6 months is to MOVE out of Manhattan - try Rockland (they get interviewed <6 months) or Long Island. But forget about Manhattan unless you want to wait 1 year to get an interview....once you have lived in the new area for 3 months you can apply for citizenship from the new location.

How?? Mine estimated time has moved back another month from May 2020 to June 2020...

I was talking about people who haven't yet submitted an application....

if they live in Manhattan they should be ready for a wait of about 1 year after applying!

Is it the same for Brooklyn or just Manhattan??

No. They are 2 different field offices (though located in the same building). Brooklyn is currently faster by a couple of months.

I had my interview at the Federal Plaza (730am slot!). My interview took ~15 mins. I wasn't approved on the spot. My case officer, a sweet lady, asked me if there was a change to the application. I provided updates to my travel history after the application was submitted. I had noted them the night before incase they ask about it. She also asked me 2018 tax returns which I also carried with me (and were submitted with the application because I hadn't done my taxes by then).

I wasn't approved on the spot. I was told that my application requires a review but she has all the information she needs.

An hour later, I saw a change to my application that it is approved... the next change followed a minute later with the oath ceremony to be scheduled soon. Such a relief..

Had my oath today? My appointment time was 8:30 and I was done by 1pm. I can’t believe this whole process for me is officially over! Thankful.  Best of luck to anyone else still going through the process and grateful for all the helpful info I got on here through the years.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention one important thing that happened during my oath at the Brooklyn court house. Please if you have all your green cards and work authorization card be sure to take them with you and hand them in. Also if you are going for your oath and you filed with your I751 authorization pending and never received the green card; if the officer asks for the card you should probably tell them you forgot it at home. One poor guy who came for his oath was sent back and not allowed to naturalize because he said he never received the card. Which she later realized she did in error cause another officer told her she didn’t have to send him home. Anyway don’t forget your cards .....

Hi Guys.

I filed my N400 application February 8th 2019 and got a notice on the 6th of October 2019 that my naturalization interview had been scheduled for Nov 12th 2019.

On the 17th of October 2019 i got a notification that my interview had been deschedule due to unforeseen circumstances.

It's been over two months now and my interview still hasn't been rescheduled although my online completion date says February 2020.

My fingers are crossed.

What do you guys think?
