Hello Everyone,

I was wondering how much of our chat logs should we bring for our upcoming interview?  For the last 1.5 years we have a total of 600 + pages. Do you think we should bring all pages?

That might be a little excessive if you ask me...don't you have a log that shows that you do talk/call on a daily basis? Something like google chat history or emailing back and forth? Or maybe a call log?

Well, this interview is for my husband and he plans to print our chat logs on paper.  Correct me if Im wrong, but I thought they needed a hard copy of our chat logs.  I didn't think that they accepted anything digital, only hard copies.

Quality over quantity, my friend. Cherry-pick your logs for the meat of it, make it maybe 10-15 pages at most — no one's gonna care about small talk.

Wiiith that saiiiiiid....I only submitted three pages, despite us talking online for years, and the K-1 was approved no problem.

Three pages??!!  Now Im confused.  How does three pages prove anything?  I was going to suggest to my husband to include 2 pages from each month within the last 12 months.

Any thoughts?

Those commenting should keep in mind that this person is going through the Ghana embassy which is one of the most difficult in the world. A dozen or so pages won't cut it at this embassy. They not only want quality, but quantity as well:

@luviscoming1 you want to show a consistent pattern of communication between you and your partner. You don't need to submit all of your conversations. You do want to read through them and find 3 or 4 good conversations each month to include with your evidence. These chats should include conversations about your future together, getting to know each other's family, talking about day-to-day things and yes some cutesy, love messages. My husband and I had about 2,000 pages of chats from our 2.5 years together. I spent hours reading through them and narrowed it to about 110 pages to USCIS, 30 to NVC and another 30 at interview. And yes, the CO read the conversations and asked multiple questions about them during my husband's interview.

Contact me if you have any questions.

I think @O&GForever is right: some embassies are harder than others and Ghana seems to be notoriously difficult. In this case submitting 100+ pages might make sense, whereas obviously for Canada and other embassies that would seem like going overboard.

Yes Ghana embassy is tuff.  Thanks for the advice.  Any other suggestions of what to include besides chat logs, pictures and proof of travel?

He can bring 1200 pages with him to the embassy for the interview.  But I would do as you say here.  Make a set of 2 pages from each month for the last 12 months and keep that separately in case they ask.  If they want more he can show them the 1200 pages if they like.  I took so much stuff to the interview and they asked to see nothing.  HOWEVER, I WAS PREPARED.  My brief case weighed well over 20 pounds and I had originals of everything inside.  Do I regret taking all that with me?  No.    Good luck and God Bless.

Thanks! for the advice.  Where did you get that number from, 1200?

And I spoke with hubby and suggest to bring only 3 pages from each month for the past 12 months and he said NO, he will still bring EVERYTHING.  All pages of our chat logs.  LOL

I was just making the point that you can bring as much stuff as you want with you.  There is no limit to how many pages you can carry into the embassy with you.  Well however you can't bring a wheelbarrow of stuff but you know what I mean.  Hahahaha

I suggest perhaps making a table of contents for each visit:

 1. visit 1: I visited him from 8/3 to 8/15 in ___________.

     a. passport stamp from this visit

     b. flight from visit

     c. photos of us on this visit

Chats are great but I think really outlining each visit carefully and in a detailed manner helped us.

As for questions, my fiance was asked how we met, what I do for a living, what he does for a living...pretty straightforward things.

Removal of Conditions

08/14/2019: I-751 mailed
08/20/2019: I-751 delivered to Phoenix
08/26/2019: Check cashed
08/29/2019: 18 month extension letter received
01/08/2019: Biometrics completed

Naturalization

07/29/2020: N-400 submitted online

12/21/2020: Interview date
