Question for anyone going through the K1 as of recent! They just sent us the new doctor for the Netherlands, but unfortunately this doctor is not completely set up and we haven't scheduled our interview yet, because we haven't done the medical. Our K1 expires Jan 23. When we contracted the consulate to request an extension, they basically didn't say yes or no but said you can schedule and attend your interview and before the medical because the medical exam is "out of our control." I just know that this is a little bit more complicated because now we would have to wait to do the medical and have them send it to the embassy instead of it being all done in one shot. Should we try to again request an extension or just give up and schedule a timely appointment? Any feedback is appreciated! Thank you!! :)

Perhaps you can ask for a different clinic? I'm currently in the waiting room of DC Clinics in Amsterdam. They seem to be all set and the procedure so far has been very fast and efficient.

I emailed them yesterday and today they mailed me back with an appointment for Jan 22 next week. So it seems there all set up now  :)

I just mailed the clinic today, did they call you or did they gave you an appointment date through email? And how soon after the email did they contact you?

Good luck to you too! It 'll be over soon 😉

We emailed them too! We had to get set up with a profile and send a questionnaire in and then we were able to schedule an appointment!

Medical done... 450 for the exam and xray and another 50 for 1 shot. A lot of money but I guess it's worth it in the end. ;)

Next, interview!

450?! That is way more than the old physician...☹

My bill says:

€250 for the medical

€85 for the chest x-ray

€60 for the gonorrhea test

€40 for chicken pox blood test

I guess, technically, if you're pregnant so you don't need to have a chest x-ray and you have proof of having had the chicken pox vaccine it could be as "low" as €310. But for the majority of people it'll be the full amount, which would be €435 (sorry, had 450 in my head).

Hello,

We are going through a similar experience. My fiance in the Netherlands made her medical appointment for the 23rd and now the only date available for an interview at the embassy is on the 28th of January.

Does anyone know if the embassy has any k1 dates available for February? Has anyone been able to reach the embassy by phone or email?

As far as I know, with the medical in the Hague, you need to register online at their website http://www.ihch.nl before making an appointment.

must first register as a patient at our polyclinic at our website www.ihch.nl. You will receive confirmation within three working days that you are a registered patient. Only then can you schedule an appointment.

They actually scheduled my appointment first and I registered later. They even called me to confirm.

Hi there! Moving to this thread as my case is on its way to the embassy.

How long does it usually take to schedule a medical? I was wondering if I could already call the clinic in Amsterdam (I read that Dr Schulte doesn't do the medical anymore so I'll try planning one with DC Klinieken) to do so to prevent having my interview scheduled before my medical, but I don't know if they'll let me without the P3?

I have contacted DC Klinieken but they're saying my case number is not in their system so they can't plan my medical? I'm very confused

Correct, you have to wait. They have access to CEAC and can see your case, but obviously not if it's not ready on NVC/consulate end. They scheduled my interview 5 weeks ahead (email on Jan 9th, interview Feb 18th), so you have plenty of time to make an appointment at DC. They know people are on a deadline, so don't worry about it. I called them on the 9th, and had an appointment the 14th.

Having said that, I would reach out to the consulate about where to take your medical because there's at least 2 options now and I'm not sure if it matters where you go. Sent an email on the 9th (I got a lot done that day ;) ) to AmsterdamIV@state.gov asking where to take my medical and got a reply back a few hours later.

If you wanna prepare, get your vaccinations (and/or your record) straight. That's about as much as you can do right now.
