Comments : The airport was really quiet do to Covid. I was the only 1 in line for the visa's and the officer didn't know I had a k1 until he asked how long I was planning to stay and I responded 'indefinitely'. I then got taken into secondary where I was the only 1. It took a while, the guy processing my visa never did a K1 and was instructed by another officer. They had to explain everything to him (how a k1 is not an immigrant visa and all). I heard them talking about the pictures in the package "aw they look so in love" in another room. They did not take the X-ray cd or even look at it. After 45 minutes they stamped my passport and put I paper I-95 in it and after telling me I have to get married in 90 days I was good to go 🙂. No weird questions or anything, just a long wait because they had to work in the officer helping me.

Consulate Review: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Event Description

Embassy Review : The lady taking in my passport spoke Dutch and was very nice. She loved my name and we chit-chatted about how a dutch girl got such an exotic name. The girl taking in all the documents and fingerprints at window 2 was more official and efficient. The woman who interviewed me at window 4 was very friendly and smiled listening to my answers. She asked simple questions:

What's his name?
What was it about him that attracted you?
How did you meet?
What are you planning to do when you move there?
Where will you live, does he have a house?
She asked if the the co-sponsor was his mother. When I said it was a friend she asked what the nature of their friendship is en why she is willing to sponsor me.

They didn't ask the proof of relationship documents. She told me my passport with the visa will be send to me and that I'm good to go 😀

Overall a pleasant experience, if you have a solid relationship you have nothing to worry about 😉
Rating : Good

Embassy Review : Quick and painless. Interview was about 15 minutes. She asked how we met and after seeing the wedding photo's and some 'aaaw cute' going over them just some simple questions like phonenumber address etc. She never asked any official documents, she just kept the pictures and a copy of my employment contract. Very pleasant interview 😃
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
