Hi all, I am a lurker that has been following this forum since the beginning.  I am the one that has his case date of birth updated.  Hoping that's a good sign of things to come.  At least they are looking at it right.  Hopefully our journey will end soon to start a new one:)

Hi there,

did you get a rfe regarding birth date? Or did they just noticed wrong birthday entered  and updated it?

Did the noa1 have correct birthdate?

Do you have any religious reason why you cant meet?  That is one of the only reasons I have seen to get a waiver.  Other than religion I do not believe waivers for the meeting in the last 24 months will be easy to get.

thank you for your response,  No we have no religious reason  of not meeting just the time she was supposed to come she had an accident at her job

thank you maria for your response, at first she was afraid to come to Nigeria now its about her health. painful monthly flow because of the method of childbirth she is 36  what do you think?

Sounds to me like she is making excuses and is afraid to go to nigeria.

I informed my lawyer the following week that the NOA1 had the wrong birth year.  She said she would inform them about it, but I guess they are just now updating it.

YIPPPPPEEEEEEEE WE ARE APPROVED!!! 325360

After 175 long days of waiting, notification came to my fiance by text and email this afternoon!!! The only day I didn't have signal on my phone and in back to back meetings lol but I was greeted by a most welcome Halloween treat :jest::jest::jest:

It has been said a million times already, but again I would like to thank each and every one of you for your support, shared stories and moral boosting messages over these near 6 months of waiting - the VJ forum has been the most amazing network of support.

For all those still waiting I get it - all the frustration and not knowing a snippet of information, seeing everyone else approved days after your receive date - been there, hear you - but it WILL HAPPEN, not an if but a when :)))))

How many times have you met? How long have you been in a relationship? Pay attention to red flags, that’s my advice.

I really think she should visit and refile. I think that reason will not get you an approval. You will get an RFE and then a denial. She must meet the meeting requirement. Basically she wasted the $535 filing fee and a lot of time.

They probably won't accept the waiver since you have to meet before filling for fiancé visa. Unless they would except health as reason to waive. You will definitely get an rfe you could possibly try to explain it in a letter but it's almost impossible. I would say plan a visit before the rfe just maybe they may accept the passport stamps after the fact but unlikely. Worth a shot if you two plan to be together and get married have to meet. Meet and answer rfe with the passport stamps and pictures. Maybe it will save you from having to file again and pay the fee again
