Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) on Tuesday said Americans may have to choose between purchasing a new iPhone or paying for health insurance.

“You know what, Americans have choices. And they’ve got to make a choice,” the House Oversight Committee chairman told CNN’s “New Day," one day after the House GOP unveiled its plan to replace ObamaCare.

“And so maybe, rather than getting that new iPhone that they just love and they want to spend hundreds of dollars on, maybe they should invest in their own healthcare.”

To be fair it is a valid point. Americans as a whole have their priorities all screwed up.

I was about to say the same thing. The plant I use to run. I would see guys with 3 phones, expensive jewelry, designer jeans and no care.I think the point he made was overly simplified but some truth to it.

Iphones are awful. I went Samsung and never looked back

Sorry but my priorities are good to go that's why I voted him and not Killary. He at least has a majority of the priorities that he is dealing with in accordance with a majority of what Americans want. Killary would have pandered and let her foundation donors dictate her priorities to her.

Somewhere down the line the list of priorities in life got flipped on it's head.

I'm on my second Samsung phone, I like them better than the I-phone as well.

So using the Chavetz Axiom, If I give up spending hundreds of dollars ( $649 to $969 according to the Apple website,), I will be able to get access to affordable, quality healthcare.  Sounds like I deal.  I have 1,000 in my pocket now, where is the insurance?

Is this like an ObamaPhone?

So, is he signaling that insurance premiums will be around $800 a year? Sweet!

Donald Trump lost the popular vote, so no, the majority of American's are not buying what he is selling. Speaking of reality, many who did vote for Trump did so for reasons unrelated to actually supporting Trump, making his actual support base lower than the less than half who did actually vote for him. You are onto something with the last half of your comment.
