Think about the sheer volume that takes place there. BTW that lockbox isn't just for USCIS, it's basically a countrywide lockbox for all kinds of activities. The volumes must be absolutely massive, my filing was at least 100 pages, maybe closer to 200 pages, based on how thick the stack I saw at my lawyers office was. Multiply that by 100 per day for K1 filings. That's 10,000 to 20,000 pages. Then realize K1s are 0.4% of all visa filings -- let's stick with 100 pages per filing, that's 2.5 million pages per day. And that's just visa filings, there's also national benefits center filings, AOS, etc etc. Again, in a day.

We're pushing close to 100 million pages per month just in visa applications alone.

Wow that's a lot of papers. And poor trees!

now waiting for Monday to call NVC! I need advice on what to do now! It's like I was so focused on the NOA2 I don't know how to navigate NVC but I am so happy to be done with USCIS.... still sending out good vibes for more march whiners to get their approvals !

Congrats! Unfortunately, you are still dealing with USCIS, because it takes approximately 3 weeks for USCIS to mail it over to the NVC. You can subtract the time it took USCIS to mail you the NOA2 from that 3 weeks span of time and begin calling NVC after that or in approximately 2 weeks.

Congrats on all NOA2s!!!

Someone asked how to call NVC - this is what I found in one of the threads:

Phone number: 603-334-0700.

If it goes straight to voice recording, it means that the lines are busy.  Hang up right away.

If it rings once and then goes to a voice recording, it means they will take your call.  You will hear a voice recording with a woman.  As soon as she starts talking, press 1.

You will be directed to a voice recording with a man.  As soon as he starts talking, press 7.

You will be put on hold.

When an employee answers, they will ask you for your case number.  Tell them that you don't have a case number yet, but you have your USCIS receipt number.  This was my standard line: "My fiancé and I applied for a k-1 visa.  We received our I-797 (Notice of Action 2) from the California Service Center on (date).  We are calling to see if the California Service Center has forwarded our case."

The employee will enter your case number into their system.  If the case has not been forwarded, they will tell you to call back again in a few days.

If the case has been forwarded, they will ask you for your full name and date of birth and your fiancé's full name and date of birth.  Then they will give you your case number (important) and your invoice number (which they said was important but we never used).

After you have your case number, you can check your case status here:

https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

(added by someone else)

If you're an electronic case, make sure you're calling the immigrant line 603-334-0700, then press 5. If not, the agent you speak with will not be able to see your file and will keep telling you they haven't received your case yet.

Our case was definitely electronic - judging by the speed it moved - but Eric got the number from line 7. So I would try both, just in case:)

Yep same here ours was 💯 a electronically sent case after uscis were done with it ours moved like a rocket 🚀

To add on to this, if you aren't sure if your case electronic, you can call line 7 first. That's what I did on day 1, and the lady on their end told me that my case was electronic and I needed to call line 5. Or you can always try both! Line 5 always had a really short line for me.

Pretty sure its Monday-Friday but then again who knows. :)

On a side note me and my fiance just picked out our wedding bands. Nice plain silver ones that we will get engraved. His pastor said he would marry us for free as a gift to us which is super awesome. :) We also found out we don't need witnesses so we decided to have a dinner with his friends later and then later next year in like September 2018 we will hold a party so my family can come down too and any out of state friends. :)
