First name is something else, the usual rags were covering it yesterday but seem to have dropped it, presumably they found out why he was refused and did not meet the agenda.

Lying about your name probably did not help?

Of course you have those dead in the Middle of the road like myself, but we are few and far between  and people like Teddy who usually travel in the wrong lane with the occasional tire in the ditch, but not really always in it.

Since Lost in Blue left there are almost none of us left in the middle of the road .

There are houses that are more in the "middle of the road" than you are buddy. Stop fooling yourself, you don't fool others.

The MDL refers to the Muddy Ditch Left. MDR refers to the muddy ditch right. I use it as shorthand to identify people or opnions on the far end of political stances. As if to say they are so far from the middle they are in the ditch.

Its kind of my running gag here, meant to be more humorous than anything .

I love both, because unless you're really a lunatic, you're never just one or the other all the time. There are instances where we all fall into one category or another. I consider myself MD-ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ!

You should've been here a few years ago, you would have thought you hit the lunatic lottery.

A few things:

By all accounts the individual's name IS Mohammad, but he is known as Juhel Miah. So before arguing about his name, we don't know what the name on his passport is. A Welshman, and well-respected math teacher at a local school. His visit was a part of a larger school trip to NYC. His family is Bangladesh in origin. See the BBC article regarding his name. Mr Miah, whose first name is Mohammed but is known as Juhel, was in charge of eight pupils at the time and said there were a total of 39 pupils and five members of staff on the trip. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-39037385

Given his age, race, religion, and destination I can imagine exactly what they were looking for. That doesn't make it right.

We know that we'll never know why the CBP/DHS choose to do what they do, and he'll never know why either.

Numerous articles state he had a valid visa. This annoys me to no end. We know the VWP requires no visa at all. So which is it? Did he have a visa or not? He says he had a ''visa valid until 2019'' or when he says that does he really mean an ESTA valid until 2019?

Other questions we don't know: did he answer his ESTA correctly and truthfully?

Had he traveled to any of the 7 nations before? He says he hasn't... BUT...

Had he traveled to any other nation not listed under the ESTA-ban?

Was his name wrongly on a no-fly list? Considering he was denied before the plane even took off, I'm suspicious about that.

Was he banned or barred?

If he had an actual visa was it revoked?

Can he apply for a visa and make it in?

Does he have any known associates, friends, or family in the US?

We know that even a straight up classic English white guy on the VWP always has the chance of getting denied at the border. But I don't think that they are often barred from being on the flight to begin with. Nothing ever 100% grants you the right to enter. The same thing has happened to Americans entering the UK.

Guess that make me Native American.

lying? that hadn't even occured to me. don't you think if they thought he was lying about his identity customs would have said as much? my husband has four names in addition to his last name. he does not go by all four names and all four names are not reflected on his id. (canadian or us) all four names are, however, reflected on his canadian passport. tmk, it's quite normal for muslims to have the first name mohammad but do not go by mohammad as a first name (for obvious reasons)

That is the weirdest thing to me. Unless you are flying through somewhere like Dublin where you go through immigration before a flight, I feel like there are only a small number of scenarios where you are taken off a flight before it even takes off. If you are denied entry it is typically at immigration, once you have landed.

I thought I read that he had an ESTA, and presumably that was valid until 2019. I forget how long ESTA's last.
