Visa in hand , banned from entry in airplane

Correct. The stay on the ban that was placed was ONLY for those ALREADY in the US and detained. Anyone trying to board a plane will still be barred until travel restrictions are lifted.

It's a very volatile time right now, and people "hear" things all the time, just because a person says they heard something worked doesn't mean you should try it, you could lose your immigration status and never be with your loved one.


Also note, it doesn't matter where you fly out of. If your passport is from one of those countries, that's all they need to bar you. Even people with dual-citizenship and those marked with those countries as their country of birth but say a Canadian Passport are still banned.

You will have to wait it out, either until the ban gets turned over by lawyers or the 90 day period is up, assuming there won't be an extension.

Hopefully in 90 days some adjustments will be made and she will be able to start her new life.She still have time that her visa will be valid.  This can happen to any of us here .

I guess I would, because they are for right now. Trying to twist this into a positive thing other than "you'll be together eventually" is delusional because this is an awful and serious situation. But 60 people saying "don't worry, you'll be there eventually" isn't going to do anything for anyone, it may cull the tide for the OP for the first 6 people saying it, but by the 10th, the OP's usually want to know exactly what's going on.

There's too much hear say going around, too many people not knowing they can't board and try to anyways. Anyone from these countries need to know whats going on and obviously no one's telling them over there.


I would rather give a straight talk to someone to make sure they don't try to circumvent the current issues going on JUST to get into the country. That puts their immigration status at risk and potentially their lives, and if somehow the higher ups making these choices realize that there are people trying to find ways around the ban, they'll just make the ban harder. People in these situations tend to cling towards any hope that they can get around things, not grasping the consequences at all to doing so.


And yes, her visa is still valid, and if they keep extending the ban, it is possible that when it's lifted they may be able to extend her visa for longer due to current circumstances.



Again, all we can do is wait and see if the ACLU can do anything, if any lawyers figure out a way to over turn it, or the 90 days pass and there is no extension, which ever comes first.

To clarify it sounds like you may have already needed to be in transit do the entrance to Boston to work but I would call the airline ( Turkish Airlines I assume ) and see if they have been updated with the mandate and see if they can possibly route you to Boston even if on another carrier. I know airline carriers were offereing refunds and re accommodating passengers in these situations yesterday. Certainly won't hurt to give your airline a call to see if this Boston thing would be valid for you.

First, I am so sorry you went through all this. Majority of Americans feel your pain and others in this situation. They've been protesting since the Executive order was signed and Believe me everyone is doing everything possible to fix things.

 

Wipe your tears and keep praying. By Middle of the Week we will understand more. As for the meantime, hold on to your visa and don't attempt to travel again. Keep an eye and ears for news regarding this. Goodluck!

Someone gave the thread misinformation ( which was later clarified by the poster) and Ash corrected it but was making a point that until things settle down and more info comes in those impacted should wait before trying to travel to the US. 

 

Who knows, the ban could be lifted tomorrow.

There was nothing wrong with what Ash stated. The OP is in a terrible situation, but it's a situation that no one on this forum should recommend they do something to make that situation worse, contrary to law, or charge into the unknown unwisely. We have to be comforting and supportive, but also honest. The reality is that unless something significant happens, we can advise them to do nothing but wait for their own safety's sake. A judge in Massachusetts have put a seven day hold on the exec order, saying anyone with an approved visa cannot be turned away on the basis of the exec order. And it's not just for those already in the US, it's for anyone with a green card or an approved visa. Link below.
