I had started a similar topic earlier, but I think this title is more appropriate. During the interview my fiance' explained that we decided to write because of the time difference and due to issues with her phone. We had lots of pictures together and I have gone to Ukraine twice the last time was 9 months before the interview. They took all of her paperwork and passport and put the case in administrative review. They said it is not a refusal, but that it needs to go to administrative review, and to expect a delay of at least 10 days before we get their decision. Has anybody on this website been placed on Administrative Review after an interview? Tell us about it and how long you have been waiting. My fiance' went to her interview on Nov. 2nd, and they were skeptical based on the questions they had asked about the fact that we didn't call much but sent lots of emails.

Thanks!

Yes many people have. It's also known as AP (administrative processing). There is a forum for it where you can read many other similar situations. Just have to wait it out.

Hello Folks:

My fiance went to her interview and was put in Administrative Processing at the Kiev Embassy. They just asked twice why we had no records of phone calls, but she didn't feel the interview went badly. It seemed more like they wanted to check on things. Anyway, she kind of felt it the phone call thing could have been the reason. Anyway, I have got to thinking about any other possible reasons for it. Could it be an employment check, or some kind of background check? Any ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

Well because her phone was having problems and we both had phones which relied on long distance calling cards. When my calling card ran out they did not have records of it so we decided to send long expressive emails. Not really a red flag.

Probably more to the co they would see it as a red flag especially with apps like whatsapp,fb whatever, that have free calling ,you can even video chat on those apps. That's how my husband stays in contact with his family now that he's in the states.

But also ap is completely normal for every visa process, they could be doing background checks and that's what taking so long especially if she had a common name

I love my husband ?‍?‍?

Well, not everyone is a push button phone freak. A lot of people don't care for excessive technology, especially when technology in our society seems more important than common sense or family values or morals. That's when it's even more of a turnoff.

I agree with Jenni, beside that she's talking from the CO point of view how they think and look at things! however, if you are under AP from 2-4 weeks is normal.

if it took more than that, you start to contact the embassy and DOS if they didn't issue to your fiance 221g slip. if they did issued it keep praying that u don't stay long in this AP.

all the best for u guys

Well she is making a generalization and a negative one at that as she can't speak for all officers. So she needs to stop making assumptions.

No records of calls can raise at least yellow flag. Emails are good suppement but they don't replace real voice communication so I see why CO was suspicious about it. I don't think it will cause a denial but they may request some extra evidence of communication. Me and Amy didn't use actual phones for calls because it's expensive but I brought a printed log of our skype audio and video calls as a proof of live communication. In our days there're so many easy ways to communicate for free or very low cost via any internet connected device (Skype, Viber and many other software) that zero logs from anything like this (or long distance calling cards in your case) may look a bit strange during the interview.
