Hello everyone,

I'm new to this website. I have sent AOS documents since 2nd of November and they have recieved them since 7th of November. My biometric was done on 16th of December. I have been waiting for EAD since then.. I'm really tired of waiting :( Is the application "case tracker" able to check EAD as well? Are those documents (EAD,AOS,AP) same case number? Its almost 90 days since they recieved it but nothing has updated yet.

Hi and welcome :)

You should be able to add your 3 individual receipt numbers from the NOA1's in the case tracker... Each case needs to be added. At this point (past 75 days) you can also submit a service request by phone or website about your pending i-765/i-131 applications.

Thanks for bringing a little humour to an otherwise frustrating and exhausting experience!

In GA, you can bring your NOA1 for the AOS to qualify for a one-time extension on your drivers license. This is what I had to do since my GA license expired when my I-94 did, so I got this one time extension as well:
http://www.dds.ga.gov/Drivers/DLdata.aspx?con=1741471757&ty=dl

This is good, as it should cover you by the time you get your EAD card, and then you can extend it again the moment you get that card for a year. Sadly every time you need to renew it, it's $50, regardless if it's only for a few months or 8 years. Do note though that you must already have had a GA Drivers License in the past to qualify for the above.

Quote

Non-Citizens Driver’s License, Permit or Identification Card One-Time Extension

The Department of Driver Services provides a one-time 120-day extension for any non-citizen who meets the following requirements:

  • Must be an existing DDS customer
  • The Georgia license, permit or Identification card must have expired or must be expiring within thirty (30) days
  • Must provide proof of having requested an extension for time to remain lawfully within the United States by presenting an original I-797C Notice of Action.

I just called USCIS. According to the customer service representative there hasn't been any directive about whether or not AOS cases involving citizens of the seven listed countries will continue to be adjudicated. I will be optimistic about it. Hopefully, at the very least, they provide my wife with an EAD card.

Just thought I'd give an update.

In the event that the USCIS were to receive the notice, I'm sure there would be also an official statement. Keeping my fingers crossed for that EAD :)

It's Day 78 fellow VJ members!  I filed a service request on our EAD yesterday.  Probably won't make it move any faster, but at least it will give me something new to look at on the status page.  I am getting a little grumpy about the wait this week. :(

Congrats! Yes I think it's safe for everyone to stay in the US until everything is clear. Unless there's an absolute emergency to go back to your home country. I guess we can all wait 90 days just to be sure we won't be facing any problem coming back in.
