So this happened today:

"White House chief of staff Reince Priebus sent a memo to federal agencies instructing the bureaucracy to cease issuing new regulations and to enact a federal hiring freeze."

Hopefully this means that USCIS can contract out the work instead to get these applications processed.

A hiring freeze shouldn't affect our K-1s (albeit it could affect those in mid/late Dec.). We'll likely have our NOA2s before a new hire would even be able to start looking at cases.

That said, I have to question the rational behind a blanket and complete freeze without regard to need (even when you pay for everything yourself!). Ugh... /rant

Thanks for posting this.

They have been working weekends so maybe some activity tomorrow Saturday.

Nope. It's not an error, everything is correct. They haven't touched any K-1 cases with NOA1 dated for Nov 14.

Over a thousand of K1 visa petitions were filed in November alone.. and you're trying to be positive with a few cases being adjudicated per day?! If this continues at this pace some November cases wouldn't get approved until next fall. We are talking about 40 approved petitions per weekdays... what kind of weekend action you expect to see? 2 more cases approved at most... who cares? Think about it... 40 petitions per week. 15 min per petition? 15min X 40 = 10 hours lets say it took them twice the amount of time to process each petition 10 hrs. x 2 = 20 hours. So that's 20 hours of approving time per WEEK!! Did they allocated 1 person for our hunnybunny petitions?

The work is already done by non-federal employees. It is done by contract workers and they are paid by the fees that we pay towards our applications.

I knew it was correct Vogann, just more of my sarcasm or should I say  my way of showing disappointment with the whole processing.

My fiancee is tired of hearing me drone on about it. She said just come visit and forget this for a while.

Well 2 more case this weekend for 10/31 cases would be great if one of those 2 are OUR case...LOL

I agree not much resources to honey bunnies, They are focusing on other things which we will probably never know. They put the time frame to 5-6 months for approval before they will even consider responding to our request for case info. They know exactly what they are doing.

From my understanding they are using 110% of their human resources to approve as much Syrien refuges visas as possible before Trump shuts down Obama's immigration legacy.

Well.. I wish you luck in getting you petition approved over this weekend!

Of course at this point it's just a hypothesis.. one out of 100 that we already discussed in this thread.

Whatever it's out there I hope it's going to be over soon.

Whoooooa ! Congratulations. That is so cool. So just to be clear your received date is 10/31?

There were only 4 approved today for that date so if that is the case then you were one of them or was your received date a different date?

I hope you were able to contact him back and let him know the good news.

Get some rest if you can. I will update my signature line here. Finally some more activity.

So happy for you MzladyQ.
