On the good news side of things, I found out I can take up to 3 hours admin leave, if necessary, to vote tomorrow. So long lines apparently won't be a good excuse for not voting. I will have a tablet and smart phone on hand so it shouldn't be too boring. Waited for over an hour to vote in the 2014 midterms. Read many chapters of American Gods that night while waiting but never finished the book after the election.

Speaking of lines, life in the Soviet Union back in the 70's and 80's appeared to be really, really boring, standing through the long merchandise lines that the American media seemed to show all the time. And, of course, this was before the age of smartphones to relieve some of the tedium.

I started reading that book twice and never finished. I don't know why.

My voting is a block away and right next to the kid's school after drop off tomorrow morning. I highly doubt there will be long lines, but you never know.
