K1-AOS: Can the Civil Surgeon be out of your state?

Hi

I'd posted a few days ago looking for a Civil Surgeon in Rhode Island that would be happy to do a vaccination transcription onto the I-693 without having to go through a second medical exam and seem to have had no luck so far.

So my question this time around is, if I were able to find a CS within Massachusetts or even Connecticut who would be willing to do it, could I go to them?

OR would the CS have to be from within RI seeing as that is the state in while I am residing?

Why can't you use the one from your medical from K-1? Was it not completed?

Yes my K1 medical is still valid as it was from 19th May.

I had one outstanding vaccine that I got done a few weeks later at my own doctors surgery.My DS3025 states that I deferred having the outstanding vaccine, and my doctor gave me a copy of my vaccination records that states that I have since received the require vaccination. At the time of my medical exam, the Panel Physician advised me that this would be sufficient at AOS stage, however as far as I am aware now it is not.

My understanding is that as my DS3025 was not technically complete at K1 stage, the USCIS require the details to be transcribed onto the I-693 by a civil surgeon.

DS3025 is fine for AOS when it's complete.

Knightsbridge did add a statement moving forward that it can qualify for AOS without going to a civil surgeon, but since you had one done at a later date you will have to get the additional note transcribed for you.

From my understanding the instructions on the I-693 say ANY US Civil Surgeon, so I think that would include other states if you are willing to make the drive!

I received a RFE for a new medical and had it done out of my state - i live in Missouri, medical (including some vaccinations) was re-done in Tennessee simply because it was way cheaper over there. Got my AOS approval 4 weeks after submitting a new medical.

So i believe as long as a civil surgeon is from "USCIS list" , you can see any of them.

Many VJ peeps used to get the transcription via mail from a CS in Texas, Dr. Arnold I think, don't know if he still does it,

it was about 10 years ago and I have not read a post about it in years. His contact info should be in the long CS thread.

He just charged $25 and mailed the transcript you didn't even have to go there.

Hey so just to update, I found the long CS thread and found there was a guy in Boston who would do them for $25 which is only an hours drive away so would be totally worth it in my opinion, however my husband had a very lengthy conversation with the receptionist who stated that he was no longer willing to do the transcription without doing a full medical 'due to legal reasons' and that she was not willing to ask the doctor if he would call us back to discuss directly.

- so we ended up at one in Cranston RI.

No medical but the appointment to get the form filled out was $220 with a TB skin test and they insisted that I had a blood test for syphilis, which i will collect the results of on Monday, costing a further $180 unless our insurance company accepts it. I'm not a happy bunny at all.

Dang....it's been a long time I been on these boards. 10 years to be exact with a short hiatus and back again.

It was easy with Dr. Arnold back then. I wonder if someone else like him transcribes via mail or if it is even

still possible.
