I know in my head you are soooo right Ebunoluwa, but after reading about some of our other filers getting stuck in a storage unit or lost it got me in a bit of a Tizzy. Jon keeps reminding me to relax and chill out, but I am OCD and I know once we get the LND number there is a bit more we are able to control instead of just the waiting game.

I need a mantra lol.

Here is a mantra : This too shall pass :) Always good to stay on top of things as long as you don't drive yourself crazy.

Yea it's not like you guys have been waiting months and your case is lost. It's been about 16-17 working days. It can take up to 30. Give it a few days and call NVC back. USCIS is known as the misinformation line....you can't take their word as gospel either. Try to relax. You're getting there!

I had same question same thread up i belive....THAT MESSAGE :diablo:

And no mine went to NVC then DR embassy.

It was explained as there is no way it can just go from uscis to embassy as NVC has to assign it a number.

The people who keep saying she "just needs to wait it out"- that is not helpful.

Her problem isn't that she isn't waiting long enough- her problem is that when she called, they told her that her case "went straight to the consulate" per the NOA2, which we all know is incorrect. Which is obviously why she is confused.

Kay&Epi, I think you just got a very confused or tired clerk last night. I would try the NVC again today, to try to get your case number. If they say the same thing, then definitely try to escalate it. They absolutely have to assign a case number at the NVC. I don't think the USCIS is going to be very helpful because they kinda make a big deal over cases forwarded to the NVC no longer being their problem.

The USCIS misinformation line is notorious for dishing out wrong information. Famous even. It can take 3-5 weeks, so really, don't panic just yet.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I think people are saying wait it out....just because of that. They are calling being given the wrong info.

I was even told my case was lost. That it had the wrong DOB all kinds of stories.

Low and behold DOB was never wrong and case was on someones desk just collecting dust. To get a hold of a tier two is like playing bingo you may get it.

Anyway i had the same message everyones mostly does. But it still HAS-to stop in NVC no way around it. As i was told.

They must wait at least to be out of normal processing which is 6 weeks. However in about 2-3 weeks if normal they will have a case number just keep trying NVC.

They asked me for the first sentence and did the same to me....i was able to get a tier two i told them (tier 1) i wouldnt talk to them complained abit and they actually expedited my case however it had been almost 4 weeks.

You guys really don't need to call, it takes 3-5 weeks for a K1 at NVC and you will get a letter in the mail with the case number.

Don't drive yourselves crazy over nothing but prepare for the interview.

Many of us never received a letter from NVC. I wouldn't count on that part.

We are saying wait it out because the OP has already been given information from other posters that it must go to NVC first before the embassy.

Patience is key in this journey and some stages take time. We are trying to let the OP know that it can take some time yet to get to NVC and for a case number to be assigned. Totally useful and helpful advice.

So besides calling or waiting, send an e-mail to nvcinquiry@state.gov. Only need to send it once. Use a similar format as to what is below.... They will reply within 2-3 days once they receive your case.

Dear National Visa Center,

Good Day!

I am writing to inquire about the status of our approved I-129F petition with Receipt Number:
XXXXXXXXXXXXX. We have received the hardcopy of our letter of approval from the USCIS (U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services) last NOA2 approval date and it was mentioned there that they have already sent our case to your office for further processing. As such, may we request you to please assist us with any standing information regarding this matter with specifics on our case number assignment. I've enclosed below all the pertinent details needed to serve as your reference for this inquest.

Petitioner's Name:
Date of Birth:

Applicant's Name:
Date of Birth:

Your soonest possible reply on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Sincerely yours,

I know it says on the NOA2 that USCIS has sent your approved petition to NVC but that's often not the case. So don't be angry at NVC, the fault is with USCIS. Sometimes they just take forever to send approved petitions and no one seems to know why. When you ask USCIS about it you just get bs answers each time.

If you have set up the eNotification, you will get a message when USCIS mails your case to NVC.

Until you get that msg, you gotta be patient. There's nothing you can do about it unless your case has been sitting at USCIS for too long (like 60 days).

When you get notified about it been sent to State Department (NVC), you wait for at least 1 week, before you call NVC to inquire about receipt of your case.

"On September 15, 2016, we approved your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), "

If that's the status you still get as of now, then your case is still at USCIS.

Your case has been moving faster than most folks so be a little patient, you will need it.

CSC doesn't do that (at least not with K-1 visas), TSC does though.
