@jose&ive Congrats! Can you tell us what is the date of the approval letter so folks can add you to the tracker? Also, do you mind me asking, was your letter signed by the local service center director?

Of course,  date of approval letter  was September 25 and yes it is signed by the local service center director.

Hi Everyone - update.  We called USCIS yesterday - they told us the one year extension is from the date of the letter - not the green card expiration date.  Our letter expires Oct 11th.  So we have made an appointment at our local field office for an extension.  They had told us for CSC they are still working on July 2016 filers.  Our appointment for our extension is Oct 10th.  We will let you know how it goes.  Good luck everyone.

More misinformation from the USCIS misinformation line. The extension is from the green card expiry date. Funny thing is when I call uscis last Tuesday my case was approved already and they still could not see that in their system.

Hi all,

It's been a long journey but we're being patient. Like many of you, we are still waiting for resolution of our case and the 1-year extension is about to expire. What is the purpose of getting the passport stamped? And for how long does the stamp extend "legal status"?

Thanks for your help! Good luck to all!

If you want to show your legal status for renewing driver license, job etc you should get the stamp. I think the extension is for one year. Since you are a CSC filer the normal processing time is 15 months.

I woke up to a bit of a laugh from the myUSCIC - Case Status page. :P

I logged in this morning to do my daily (but probably unnecessary) check, and the "LAST UPDATED" date at the bottom had been changed from 10/18/2016 to 2/1/2017. I went whaaaaaaaat & clicked on my case number, but the same "My Fees Were Waived" page came up - so pretty much nothing changed. So I don't know if it is an error on the page, or someone really did touch our case in February & decided not to update the webpage until now? I'm going to take a wild guess & say it is an error in their system (just like the waived fees page).

Anyway, it gave me a bit of a laugh. :)

When I called the tier 2 advised me not to get infopass and wait to the letter because I will be getting a letter soon. I was confused because usually they will advise to get the stamp but that day he told me not to worry about the stamp. Maybe he can that I am approved but he couldnt tell me..lol..I called the 29th and the approval was 28th..when you call, eacalate the call to tier 2.
